Papvas, can you elaborate a bit more on the Spec3+ clutch? I presume it is not a ceramic clutch? How does it compare to a standard RS2 clutch? How did the installation go?

What did you mean with a DM flywheel is stronger than a lighter flywheel? vibration wise, or just that a DM flywheel is made from steel, while most lighter ones are made from Aluminium?

        Cheers

the spec 3+ is carbon clutch disc, and i bought it from 034 myself. It is generally not as nice as the OEM as it creates a sudden puch when you leave your foot off the clutch, but again not as bad as sinter clutch either.I have now gotten use to it and it doesnt do it all that much, because i have found the new balance to create a momentum to start gently the car.

As for the flywheel,my mechanic told me that although there is more rotating mass on a dual mass flywheel than an aluminium one,but the lighter flywheels are for racing purposes, and generally do not last as long as a dual mass flywheel. Then there is the question that if you get one,you may have to rebalance the crank to the new flywheel to avoid vibrations.
In any case,if i where to replace the dual mass flywheel,i would get a dual one again.Im more into keeping the car as is for as long as it lasts without any other major expenses, rather than have to take it to the mechanic every month for something replaced.

Maybe a single mass made of steel would be as strong, but would bring more vibrations to the car.If it is too expensive to find a dual mass from audi(3000euro) then i would get a single mass, that is a direct replacement for the dual mass, and have it cryogenically treated for more durability

Fitted a new part to the engine, a 034 motorsport SS throttle cam, as the original plastic version broke

And fitted nicely, although it seems to sit a bit 'looser' then the pastic version. Anybody had the same experience?

Also fitted me some new seats. My girlfriend bought them for me as a surprise for my birthday a few months back. Nero and his brother rode all the way to Tots to get me those seats. They instantly doubled my respect for them
Just last month I got hand on the correct RS2 Recaro loom to enable electric control AND heating from 1 loom

The seats are really in mint condition. Now I will try to rebuilt the rear mechanic windows to electric ones, so I can also fit the corresponding door panels that I already have with alcantera leather ones to make it almost complete.

October 28th I will be going to the rolling road again! Let's see if I can increase the poor results of last July due to a loose turbo hose that could not be fixed due to time-limits.....

                          424 Hp

The results (4th gear pull) running and the parts in the car:

                          Wheel HP: 368
                          Engine HP: 424
                          Engine Nm: 518

                          OEM ABY Cylinder head (not-ported)
Scat H-beam conrods (to be on the safe side)
                          ADU cams with ADU camwheel
                          RS2 IC
ECU Motronic with OEM MAF location
                          440ccm Bosch (Green) injectors
Full 3" exhaust from turbo with race cat and 3 silencers (of which 2 Borla and 1 home-made )
                          Modified airbox with K&N filter
                          OEM S2 clutch

Car was tested in exact the same way how I drive it on the road, so no removal of headlight to get more air sucked in, and also no open hood

All in all I am happy with this result and as you can see the boost comes quite early and is a nice daily driver due to the flat torque curve. The boost is not set to the max, since the OEM S2 clutch can not handle much more at this moment.
I also think the RS2 IC is mainly restrictive in my setup as well. You see the ECU starts to calculate different injection timings above 5700 RPM. I think this is the spot where the intake temps get too hot.

I will have to discuss with my tuner if the boost needs to be a bit lower maybe to avoid heat creep...... and off course start saving money for porting the head some day

Excellent Bram good results, with porting and a new clutch there is more BHP to be had

Max boost before 3K is very impressive.
13% drivetrain loss seems quite low on a quattro. If the 368whp is correct, you should have more than the quoted 424hp at the flywheel. They probably did an unloaded coastdown that says nothing about the load induced losses. Common mistake.
Around here, you would have been quoted 490hp flywheel with 368 at the wheels.

I think this plot should convince many people that the GT3071R is a very good daily drivers turbo. I do not know what the torque/RPM of a chipped RS2 should give, but I guess this is close to mine. The only difference is that the RS2 Turbo runs out of breath earlier then the Garret.

I think you are right regarding the plotted WHP. The Engine HP is correct and the WHP is too high. We have tested many S2 cars at this particular rolling road and they always have around 15% difference between engine HPs and wheel HPs. I find it a bit strange, because they should be able to measure the WHP on the rollers and calculate the Engine HP from that shouldn't they?
