    Yea map gives better surge margin than the 71r so should allow better spool. I wonder if atp would sell me the wheel and comp housing to upgrade my 2871r...

        The 2876r is a very miss matched turbo with the compressor being oversized for the turbine. The 71 is better, but the new 67 should be about perfect.

            my 3076 with 0.63ar with a billet wheel is slightly surging on 5th and 6th if i go WOT from 2500rpm at about 3000rpm when i already have 1.8-1.9bar. I already have a ported head, so i would assume that any smaller turbine from a garrett would be more prominent to surge.

            I havent seen the wheel diameters, of the 2867, but if they are closer to the 2871, and being billet it scares me!

              The map shows a clear improvement in surge over the gt2871. It will be less likely to surge that that. I have little to no surge issues on the 2871. Overlay the two maps, the 56 trim 71 and the new 67 and you will see. Also the 67 has the anti surge housing so you should be able to run off the left of the map slightly without getting into dangerous surge.

                You are on a 0.82 housing though, aren't you?

                  The 67 is a much smaller wheel, both on inducer and exducer than the 71. It's just its extended tip billet design that allows it to flow the same, but with less surge. The other gtx turbos are all different. Similar surge to the gt version, but more flow. This 67 is the reverse.

                    No I have the 034 atp style kkk24 0.63 turbine housing on a rs2 manifold. I have vems setup to limmit boost slightly before 3k rpm. That's the only surge area. With the 67 I recon you could run 1.75 bar plus at 3k rpm.

                      What cam and head setup?
                      On stock head with stock cams even a 3071/0.63 is a surge monster in higher gears.

                            Both of those might alleviate the issue somewhat... well, we will see how it goes.

                              Well here she is....

                              Arrived today, good service from ATP;

                              The old one is very nearly off, and later on this week/weekend time permitting I hope to start fitting. It looks like I will need to remove the exhaust housing and swivel it around to keep the same oil and water lines locations.

                              What is the correct torque for these turbinr housing to centre assy bolts? Not sure If I can get a torque wrench in there anyway...

                              Not sure if my downpipe will need tweeking much or of the general fit, fingers crossed.

                              Also here's an overlay of the two maps that I found on the internet;
