2006/2007. Limited stations at double the price of super unleaded claiming upto 100hp gains on a remap. Can't find it now because unlike proper racefuels it was pumped full of additives and although better than 99 wasn't that great.

And by the time the subteranean stirage tanks were half empty exposed to air after a month or two it would go of and drop as low as 95.

So shell rebranded when they started using more stable but still not perfect ethanol mix's and went to 98.

Tesco is the only official 99RON but is still a poorer quality than the 98vpower. In an ideal world we'd adopt the PON rating like they have in the US where you calculate an average of MON and RON making it more difficult to use high quantities of additives to achieve an over inflated forecourt octane rating giving more consistent pure and stable fuel. Anyone remember BP102
Very interesting, didn't realise the blend of fuel changed with the re-brand, I do know my G60 is more responsive and generally feels happier on V-power than random 95 RON fuel. I wouldn't run the S2 on anything else.

Can't remember BP 102, when was that about?

V-Power should be 99 indeed as well as Momentum from Tesco.
These are the two major fuels that are 99 RON in the UK as far as I know.

Thanks for a prompt reply and detailed thread...

One thing I have sort of lost notice of through out all of this is what fuel you use to achieve your results...

I believe that the uk agent does it inhouse themselves under the name of bilstein with their components but not actually bilstein themselves.

There was no real resistance they quoted I said yes and paid and they send them back done. It has left the car with limited travel on the front though so it needed the stiffer springs and dampening to make up for lack of travel. Without that it would be bouncing of the internal bump stops like there was no tomorrow.

So they've been revalved with 25% increase in dampening and rebound for the spring poundage and the tubes shortened by 25mm to prevent any further recurrence.

Were they eager to please when the request to shorten was made to them?... I have people here in the US that have encountered resistance from Bilstein when it came to such requests... We have, however, gotten them to re-valve with no issues...

No it's staying at ish's till March when the weather improves. Allowing me time to sort out all the niggly things prior to roadtesting and mapping.

First I need to fit the new sunroof unit which someone is supplying to me in the next week or so. Get that working refit the headlining and all the pillar trims. Then just waiting for a couple of carbon bits to be made so they can be fitted.

Next I have to finish the intake manifold and get that fitted.

Then fit some rear subframe bushes and get the car tracked.

Then I will get her ready for mapping and tax her for the road

That was pretty much the criteria I gave them. Fit the 9.5's underneath running straight sidewalls on racetires clearing them under hard launch and cornering. Oh and make it look stock

Really can't tell you the exact process all I did was sandpaper of the writing and left it to the boys at the paintshop to make them look mint.

Probably 1200, then 1500 then compound to a gleaming shine , just guessing though
