Yes it does. We chose it over an original one because it won't move about unlike the coupe's original one.

Well I haven't posted in quite a while but here we go. Another season passed with lots of happy moments and sad as well. Second overall, maybe the upcoming year will be the chosen one. Two 1st places, one 2nd, one 3rd and one 4th wrapped up the season for us. The car behaved well as it should have and it did not disappoint, the rest was driving skill and preparation. Here are some moments of the passed season.

Now the body is useless and we quickly bought a b4 coupe v6 for a donor. Work starts today so we better get cracking
Just catching up on this thread - shame that chassis was destroyed in that accident but whoever fitted the cage and seat mounts did a very good job - pretty nasty and v expensive but could have been worse. Loving the dog box too !

yea, id hate to see what could have happened had the cage failed or if you did not have a cage for that matter..... onto your drivers side too!

but well done for turning the car around into the new shell and having the motivation to keep going.

Thank you for the kind words, we are all trying to keep Audi at the top of the ranks . The moment with the crash actually wasn't a fatal one because of the seat mounts. You see the seat isn't mounted directly to the floor it is higher and supported on the tunnel. From what we examined hadn't it been for that our driver probably would have been shot in to the passenger side. Which means he wouldn't have been harnessed and something could have gone terribly wrong. Luckily it all went only with a scratch, but the car didn't make it which really was a shame.

                    • Haven't updated in a while, got some work done.
The body had suffered through the season so it deserved a good fix-up and a respray.

Almost ready for paint just have to sort out what the new livery is going to be.

For the new season we've got something prepared if BFAS(the racing federation) doesn't change the fuel regulations .

                        • From two original arches welded together. Check page one close to the bottom, they are the same as there.

                          • Been working on the bottom end this weekend. The old block had done its jub for 2 season so its time for a new one. During the last rides of the season the engine started spitting oil in the catch tank. Whe I poped the head there was oil in cyl 4, and there was some wobble in the pistons, nothing serious but anyway the block was obviously a goner.
Here are the old pistons after two years of abuse .

And here is the complete new bottom end. With the new pistons, also 83mm bore, we're going for 11,5:1 CR. Since the racing federation banned methanol and E85 were going for premium/100 octane only. Also for a surprise were getting 45mm restrictor from next year.

                            • Engine is put together and all looks promissing for now.
The look will be a clean red, but you never know when
                              the bug will bite.
Also got some new Siemens Deka injectors 750cc and four pot calipers for the front from a Merc.

Sorry for the bad quality pics.

                              • Looks loads better with the fresh paint. Good luck for the new season. How much difference will the 45mm restrictors make in reality?
