Project 91 Coupe to AAN'd 400+HP SSSSSSSSSSomething
you and me both...better attitude here, and awesome cars. keep up the good work Elijah, would love to hear the motor through the use of a sound bite or something when you are finished.

I'll work on a sound file. I just need to find someone around here that can help me out. The Mance mounts are very nicely made and are internaly sealed and lubed for life. They aren't cheap but if they last even close to life of this car I'll be happy.
Looks really good.
Trying to do the same with my 91' tornado red coupe.
In school, but when I get out and get a job, that 3b will be in quicker than.....well, it will be in quick.
wats up dude i must say that is one of the nicest lookin coupes ive seen she sounds liek shes a beast i was just wonderin how much boost your running, what kind of wheels are on the car and if they are 4 lug or 5 ?

Thanks, I'm having alot of fun with it. Hopefully I have most of the gremlins worked out but time will tell. I'm running 24psi on 93octane and with 100octane around 28-30psi. The wheels are SSR Cometitions 17X8.5 16lbs each. They are 5 lug.
ahh balls i have a 93 90 and i would like to put ms on it but i dont wana dump money into a 5 lug conversion ill most likely wind up getting the rs4's in 4 lug theyll look good thanks for the info and best of luck in workin the gremlins out
I spent the weekend at Gratton Raceway with the Coupe. We had snow on and off both days and the highs were only in the low 40's. The car ran both days and I had a blast. It didn't run great but it ran. I had a mis under full throttle where I would get some backfiring so I just ran it at half throttle and it would run ok and was still very fast. At half throttle the car was keeping up with just about anything there on the straight in the advanced/instructor groups (except the Noble) and in the corners it did very well although I would like to get rid of the body roll a little more. I had the whiteline rear bar set on soft just to learn to drive the car but I think I'll set it on the hard setting and maybe add the RS2 front swaybar. Traction is also a problem. Coming out of third gear turns at half throttle at 5krpms the tires would just spin and I kept hitting the rev limiter. I hope by getting the car flattened out with the swaybars and maybe different springs it will help this. Things that I need to sort out are the mis (I'm hoping just a bad coil) it happens at 3/4 to full throttle and feels like the car looses a cylinder and does a fast flutter sound and backfires every few seconds , an idle problem where the idle won't settle and will stall on occasion, also if I rev it to say 3K it will just stay there and then slowly goes down. Any help on these issues is greatly appreciated.
your isv is creating your slow idle problem. clean it out and see if it helps your car run better. and the mis under load could be a coil.......they are notorious for mis'.

hth
isv is idle stabilizer valve right? I switched it with one from my other car and it still is off. Might be a vacuum leak but I haven't been able to find it.
The idle problem was the hose going to the isv, it had a very small hole in it. The miss under load was a coil. I have an extra set so I swapped them in and the miss is gone. The car still stalls when cold if I don't hold my foot on the gas but once warm it runs great. I have a friend coming into town Sunday and he has a camer that we could take some short video if anyone would like to host it let me know.
hi again i was wondering what parts i would need to change my hubs on a 93 90 quattro from 4 lug to 5 ? can i just use urs4/s6 hubs? how did you go about changing from 4 lug to 5 and how much did u pay ?

You need S2 rear hubs (they can be found on this list or vagparts.com). For the front you can use URS4/6 hubs and use one of the many brake upgrades fot that car. S2 rear hubs are $60 to $100us, you'll need the S2 rear rotor or a rear rotor from the new A4, I think its the same. Good luck!
Looks awesome. For someone who will be trying to do the same you have done, just wondering how much power the engine has and if you modified the engine prior to install or did you swap the engine, drive it than do your modifications?
I haven't had the car on the dyno yet but its sucked two MAF's hotwires out in the last two weeks, this usually doesn't happen untill 400-450HP so I would guess it somewhere around that. I hope to put the car on a dyno this summer and will make sure to post results. The engine came out of my past 94 S4 and I drove it built up for a few years in that car. The only real change that I did when I put it in the coupe is a bigger FMIC, bigger oil cooler, tube header, and WG vented out the bottom of the car instead of back into the exhaust. I really need to have someone tune the car before it goes on the dyno and I hope to go a little bigger on the turbo at that time since the tube header dropped my full boost threshold by 600rpms.
