It's amazing how much they can pack stuff on a car. The subframe will propably be installed back for a little while to make it easier to push the car around. My plan is to do the welding work outside if weather allows so no sparks are flying around the garage.
If you were local you could borrow my dolly. Custom made for an S2 Avant.
I would weld inside. Just clear any combustible material and have a hose ready just in case.

Hopefully I can clear some space inside the garage at least around the area where welding would happen. I have a pile of scrap body panels stored inside that have to go. I also have water hose inside so I can keep it right next to me if I decide to weld inside.
So I got almost all the welding prep work done. All lap joints have weld through primer applied and the quarter panels got test fitted to make sure all the panel gaps match. It took a bit of fiddling but everything is starting to line up nicely. It's a little scary to weld them in place since when it's done, there's no moving them!
I got a couple hours today at the garage and got the insides of the mudguards painted, so everything is ready for rear quarter panels to be welded on.
I never had the luggage compartment tie down points at the rear. So I purchased the needed brackets to attach the tie down points to. I was only able to find them for the right hand side . So I bought two of them and with a little cutting and welding I was able to make it work.
