hi paul. you got a pm.
Have tried today getting the ecu out, but it cannot get past the white plastic clips and a mounting bracket for the fan ventilation i think it is
I didn't get a fresh PM from you... Strange. This problem is normal if the ECU has never been out before. Some patience and a strong back is required.
That white bracket twists off.
You generally need to remove the aircon drain pipe as well for improved access.
Lever off the 55-pin ECU connector carefully to give you clearance.
Then lever up the big spring clip and pull the ECU downwards from its location - there is another clip up at the top which is gripping the ECU, but with strength, dexterity and care you can pull it down.
The thing I also fight with is where a corner of the ECU snags the carpet on the way down and it gets jammed... Sometimes you need to trim the carpet a little bit.
Got it out now, but found out that the u-bent is broken off the ecu where the connector goes in, so have to fix that also
Lots and LOTS of smal stuff to fix
