    S6 timing

Yes and reading is 998 not 996 and there's no fault code. Still worth checking the resistance though.

Says here though that if this signal fails, charge pressure is reduced to minimum. I have perfect charge pressure just not the fueling to match.

Here is an example Ross-Tech VAG-com shot of a nicely idleing UrS AAN (note the atmospheric pressure):

You need to do some screen captures and post up these VAG-com results so we can read what you are seeing and check/confirm what you are seeing.

All that said, I *think* I am going to get the prize for finding the answer to your problem. "998" millibars is likely the default from a broken MAP sensor.

You might want to read all the way to the bottom in this post:

There is some interesting stuff at the end, re: no full boost at WOT.

Anyway you can check this, pop the top off the altitude sensor and gently push the diaphragm in. you should see the vagcom reading change.

I would have thought 998.8 mBar would be atmospheric. However it should change with the weather, lower on a rainy day and higher on sunny days. If the dash is reading 1.2 then the ecu is definitely seeing boost.

Despite my dash saying 2.2 at wot vag-com is stuck at 998.8 mbar at ALL times

Does it use TPS and MAP Dave? Does an injector on time of 16ms sound normal-ish for WOT at 4,000rpm? I know all cars are different but I'm trying to determine if mine is 'a mile' out.

So long as my work goes to plan tomorrow I'll open the tank tomorrow afternoon. Very strange how the mixture changes sometimes with a gear change!?!?

Sorry I'm im repeating myself, I just want to quadruple check that the car is trying to make correct mixture!

Oh, no. Another thing I have to my list of things that will fail on your AAN and strand you at the side of the road.

    10. Random fag and crisp packages blocking fuel pump inlet. Very common.

But then again, based on the length of this thread, it can't be ruled out until the tank is opened and the pump is pulled.
