If you want to tap a hole into the sump, I have mine sitting off the car in the gargage - I could see if there was an appropiate place to tap it as there are fins on the inside.

Actually that might be a bad idea - you don't want filings in the oil. Taking the sump off for that is a PITA - best to get the fumoto or tap the sump plug - I think Mark has done that on his.

If the fumuto valve is open, wont the oil from the sump go up the pipe into the catch tank, or have you got some sort of 1 way valve also?

The oil is picked up from the sump - it's not under a lot of pressure there. I thought I would have to have a one way valve but it was fine without it. You can always have it closed - then you can check how much oil it is catching. THe Mocal tanks have a clear tube up the side to see how full they are.
