In all fairness I have this style of top mount on my M3 and it's not that harsh! I use it just for the 'ring and on the drive out there it's not night and day difference.

Thanks! I have a deal going on with the last kit(would need to fabricate a extra plate so it can be used with stock springs).

I have parts ready for two more kits, but need to order bearings and make the coating, so it will go after the christmas before they are ready for shipping.

        The plates looking awesome!

I have 30mm Eibach springs installed, so standard spring/strut construction.
Does this also fit with that plates?

What values you are using with that plate?
Only "back to original" values or something different?

        Caster? For example?

I have now been taking a closer look at the stock strut top mount parts, and seems that it's not possible to use the stock upper spring plate with my camberplates. I have made a evo1 version of a custom upper spring plate that would take the stock spring. It would still need the rubber fitting that is between the spring and plate. Hope to get this working and available in the beginning of next year.

          Edit.

Acki, I don't yet know what setting are good. We shall see next summer on trackday. Propably max caster and camber would then also be quite much. I'll guess full slicks like camber between 3-5 degrees..?

A couple of pics from my friends typ85 with my universal weld on camber plates. Could also be fitted on b3/b4.

I am thinking I like this upper strut mount for the B3/4 chassis. What is the O.D. of your weld on adapter plates shown above?
                Thanks, Chris

I ask because normally you have to be careful with the settings - nervous front axle etc.
I guess most compromise for street use is somewhere next to the original values?!

According to MrCrossfire(forum member) 10mm adjustment is roughly 1 degree at the wheel. For example Toyo recommends camber between 1-5 degrees on their racing tires.

                      http://www.toyotires.ca/tire/pattern/proxes-r888

                      http://www.toyotires.ca/tire/pattern/proxes-ra1

                      From the Wiki about caster:

The pivot points of the steering are angled such that a line drawn through them intersects the road surface slightly ahead of the contact patch of the tire on the pavement. The purpose of this is to provide a degree of self-centering for the steering — the wheel casters around so as to trail behind the axis of steering. This makes a car easier to drive and improves its directional stability (reducing its tendency to wander). Excessive caster angle will make the steering heavier and less responsive, although, in racing, large caster angles are used to improve camber gain in cornering. Caster angles over 7 degrees with radial tires are common. Power steering is usually necessary to overcome the jacking effect from the high caster angle.

Yes but the cinematic of the axle is important. When you drive a corner etc.
that's why I'm asking for experiences.

Propably not much experience of different camber/caster settings with C4 on track...

First test with big springs and seems to be no issues. Max amount of camber adjustment with stock size springs is ~20mm. Total combined camber/caster adjustment is ~25mm.

Impressive stuff. I got an extra 0.5 deg camber with 7.5mm offset on the rear of the coupe, so I'd say 20mm should get you a suitably large amount extra.

Ohh looking good. I am interested in the benefits extra caster might give. So to confirm you can get 25mm worth of extra caster on stock type springs? Have you a price for these? How harsh are they?
