    • I will call today. Really, only a few miles from me. I need to buy one anyway, as I have two 4000Q(Type 85 80) driveshafts that need them. They were rebuilt at one time using the wrong center supports.

        • So I talked to Powertrain Industries this morning, and the center support bearing 2580-10 is the one listed for model 90s. They don't have the Coupe listed in their database. No surprising, considering we only got 1700 of them.

          The cost is 137.92 USD.

            I am sure it works just fine. There was just a lot of talk about real Audi center support bearings. If you look at the picture of the 034 bearing, the steel ring part of the bearing, is narrower than the rubber supporting the bearing. The audi part is wider than the rubber. May not make a difference, but if I could find the same bearing Audi used, why not?

                • If I'm correct it needs quite some persuation to get it of.

                  Tapping it from the back side should help?

                  • Nope..you wil damage'it.
                    Insert a metal bar through the holes...and use the screw to push the shaft out from the bracket...
                    Makes sense?

                    • You need to use some distance pieces between the hex screw head and the bar you insert through the holes..

                        • I did it as Pirvu Eugen suggests;

                          Alex tried that though and the threads started to strip, he hammered it off iirc.
