    • Hi Skull. I realise that I wondered if anyone in the UK had managed to find a UJ, my search for the GKN part draws me to 1 on EBay in the States. 👍🏻
I think my prop has to ground out to remove the UJ, from memory they don't look like circlips! 😔

      • Good news (maybe) gents, I've secured a Lobro U741 joint from IMS-LTD.CO.UK
The joint was a lot less than previously quoted, in came at less than £24 posted.
I hope this helps the masses?!? 🍻👍🏻😎😁😉

        Regards, Raoul. 🍻👍🏻😎

        • Does anyone know if all the coupe quattros share the same propshafts? I'm going to buy a spare to rebuild for ease.
          Many thanks.

          • My turn to do the propshaft after one of the CVs kaked itself. Sounded like something was hitting the exhaust as it was a metal ringing noise from where the shaft was transferring the noise of the backlash on the joint.

New joints, a lick of paint, full inspection and maybe a balance...

              • Just to update on this one, I ordered a new UJ today from IMS-ltd.co.uk for £50.40 shipped. We cross checked the GKN 12111 and the Lobro U741 and this is the same, centre-lubricated 26x69.80 UJ that is compatible with (my) 3b propshaft if retained with circlips rather than crimped ends as ome of them have. I'll post up pictures once it arrives tomorrow.

                • I'm after a centre bearing for the prop. Are people still using the bmw item? Anyone tried the ones advertised on ebay?

                  • Since I am in the states, I use this one. Powertrain Industries Center Support Bearing - #2580-10

                    https://www.powertrainindustries.com/story/2580-10?catalog_table=center_supports&make=Audi

Since you are in Europe, you may want to take a look at this catalog. The BRG.A1 looks to be correct for the Center Support Bearing. Doesn't seem to want to load using link.

Let us know if IMS, has the correct bearing.

                          • Greg, IMS have the brg.a1 in stock for £63. Is the baering height correct at 44.5 ? Some of the ones on ebay have a higher number for this

                            • Watching with interest... I fitted the BMW one a while ago now and am looking to change it. It doesn't seem up to the job as after what was only a few months, mine started whistling when cold... But only between 28 and 32mph!

I don't know for certain, because the bearing is on the car. I noted the BRG.A1, because it has the funny kink in it that the oem Audi one has. I also don't know where IMS took measurements from.

The one you linked to ebay is not the right one. This is the picture I have of the old one and the new one from Powertrain.
