no seriously, buy one central piece, it cant cost much. put it on. it makes really a big difference. the black ones would be even better on your car. maybe with the red ones you would get a more "rs2" look
Cheers David! Only this time i will make it! the car is gonna be ready in good time before the meeting.
-Now i even got hold of some Carbon panels and a 90 b3 reflex plate.
so thats the looks on it, now only the engine and drivetrain remains
What do i need for a full reliable and lowdown torque 550bhp 2,5 engine?
This is what i got:
* ABY engine ( i will use 2,2 block but with the 2,5 crank and matchin rods)
* 7a cams (is new ones recomended? higher lift?)
* 522cc injectors (big enough?)
* turbo (although i want a newer one) Suggestions?
* Head just overhauled with new bits
* 2x 044 fuel pumps
* manually adj. fpr
* 25rows oilcooler
Some details i will be using:
* Olsonjus reversed IM
* 2,5 tdi crank
* what gasket?
* arp bolts?
* singlemass flywheel?
Also i need some more tips on what you guys have been using in your engines or similar. key words are durable, quality and does it take a beating?
Is the OEM oilpump enough or should i go electric?
Do i need a new oilpan?
Drysump is not neede is it?
I saw Mark H space up between the oilpan and the block, why?
also is it best to convert to the high output 034 efi coils (the ones on the firewall?)
Also what clutch is needed for this setup?. It preferably have to be a clutch that even my mom figures out.
I know i dont have much, but that is why i need to start shopping now so i can start building soon.
So all ideas is great,
thanks,
I have a friend who has a tuning firm, he can redo you 7a cams to a better specification, give him a call, or mail him, info@arctictuning.se , phone number is: +46(0)-70-3006655 . His webpage is www.arctictuning.se , although its in Swedish :-)
I'm going with his special cams next year. We're hoping for low 11's or maybe even high 10's for my avant.
He's a nice guy with big knowledge about our nice vehicles.

Hey Anders.
Nice S2 you got.
The crank for a 2,5 is exactly the same as in all 5 cyl. S - RS and 2,5 TDI engine
The no is: 034 105 101 S
Just look at ETKA catalogue
My S2 Avant:
@ markus: Many thanks for the info and yes, i will try call them when i do get the time! Seems like spare time today is luxury!
You are building a drag-wagon? Mine is just going to be a fun-wagon for the side/country roads
@ Bjoern: Very nice avant! we do got the same base colour got any more plans for it?
As for my car, it just sits in the garage, not been driven for ages (4 weeks).
We are also waiting to move into a new garage so that my mom can have her bora inside this winter.
Since it's like the monsun season have started over here i dont want to take my beloved and newly polished, fun-wagon out in the dull rain to get her all messy again.
So lets therfore use the meantime to buy more parts in the wait for zhe great sunshine! yeay!
As for now i got almost nothing besides:
*new 2,2 rods are on their way (h-profile, and just a "plan b" if the 2,5 "plan a" goes bad)
*90 quattro rear reflex surrounding (thanks Nuvo!)
*034 efi Engine mounts
*Bosch 040 fuelpump
*OEM FPR modified to a manully adj one. (3-5bar pressure)
*a 15year old glenfiddich single malt (for those get inspiration times)
I also got offerd to buy a complete 2,5 bottom end to drop into my current block, but as my new apartment has taken it's fee, it'll have to wait.
As for my brakes, the Porsche 996 rears-up-front have been tested about 1 month now.
This is the brake setup:
*Porsche 996.352.425/426.1 calippers
*Black Diamond A8 323mm x 30mm disks
*Rs2 Brackets
*Porsche pads (black, mintex?)
*Porsche blue brake fluid
*Toyo R888 Street legal slicks 18"
Conclution: It does work for everyday use, but used for inspired or trackday -driving it does not cooperate as the pistons in the calipper are to small to produce enough power to clamp the disc. I cant lock the front wheels nor can i get the abs to work in rainy conditions. I've not done anything to the bias nor the brakepump. I will say that the OEM s2 brakes are better off than my current setup. I've also checked for any faults in the braking system as for air leakage, bad connections, fouling components and changend the brakefluid serveral times whitout getting better. For solving the problem i will buy new 996 calippers to match them with the rears.
So i will continue wiht the setup, just replacing the calipper and continue testing.
I dont know but maybe it wolud have worked better with a smaller disk, renembering that someone on here used similar setup just with the 314mm disk, and that was "just fine" for that person.
Oh yes. It got popped last weekend when watching audis go sideways in the new gatebil film. I don't think my neighbours got too impressed by the "wroooooOOOOmm, dodododododod, Screeeeeeectch, wrooooOOOOm" -sound roaring all over the block all night long

Dododododod (around the corner) OY! Do do do do do haha..
4wheel slide is fun
It's a must-mod that RARB, just like the shortshift (lowering, turbo, carbon, 3" exhaust and all the others) !
Quite some experience the other day! shows that one can't be a sissy going sideways with the quattro system
Realy fun with the "oy" sound! hahaha
The scooby did get to taste audidirt though. Btw, nice driving Breitling
Only got the time to order new black mats for the s2 (see pic) as my new flat gets all the attention
Things are moving very very slowly nowdays.
Just some small parts that been running inn latley;
*Xenon kit, 6000k
*Rear silencer 3" in 2x2,5" out (for the diesellooks, see piccy)
*"Pro-mounts" from Quattronics
*Alu bushes to front subframe from Quattronics
*Bosch 040 FP
*OEM modified FPR (3-5 BAR pressure)
*Audi 90 rear reflex plate
*Carbon trims, 5 piece kit (rhd which don't fit my dash panel ofcourse)
Im also starting to collect some new engineparts as it all have to be torn apart during this winter. Going to use the standard pistons, just skim some off them and even out the edges so knocking won't get time to happen (hopefully). Rods are soon here, and still not sure to go the 2,5 tdi route or just a souped up 2,2.
We'll see.
And its terrifying to see all firends start ripping their s2's and rs2's apart and start building, and mine just standing there awaiting a new garage..
Well,
will try to update as soon as i got something new to report.
Picture is from a guy in norway which has done the exhaust tip like i want to do:
