Im soon putting in some cold airduct hoses from the front to provide some more air (like your setup). I have to research more on covering it, but for startup it'll do nicely. I also thought about making a custom box for it, but there isn't much room left to work on.

initially that was my first thought
but i couldnt be bothered as the alloy sheet to make it had to have extra curves and cuts to fit in there, and i also wanted to have a quick access. So i bought some sticky heat/sound absorbers made a sandwitch out of them and made a fully manouverable shield which can come off quite easily. I only had to make a small top of alloy sheet just for the looks of it. the rest is just heat shield wrap/deflector.

it does need redo with better materials i have to say as the heat in the area makes the glue from the sticky area a mess, but i will do something about it in the future. So far it does the job and keeps the IATs cool!

previously i couldnt touch the musrooom filter at all from the heat. Now it is dead cold !

Lighthouse: Yes i'll try my best to show up. I really miss the trackdays in the summer. What car do you have so I know who you are?

Papvas: Thanks for the input My first thought is to use some of the carbon plates lying around to try make a small airbox and cover the sides closest to the exhaust with heatwrap, and make a hole in the front for cold airduct feed. Closed/seald box must be a better option than just a shield?

mine is basically sealed from the top, 2 sides, rear. it leaves open the front and the bottom half where a tube is located bringing cold air from the lower right bumper mesh.

i actually ordered some lava mat to make a better heat sheild now so that it doesnt have that shiny silver look.

just read the whole five year of your S2-Avant story. Very cool and clean Turboquattro you got there. I'm very impressed!
Did it start up yet? It seemed not to in the Video...Did you build the 2.5l crankshaft into the ABY? Didn´ t find anything written about that...
