Update:
A flywheel is installed on the engine as well as the clutch. I also primed the engine from the oil pump side. I modified the old oil pump "sender".
I started to disconnect every connector on my actual 7A engine and removed a few bits from the engine bay to make removing the engine easier.
I know there will be a lot of work in the engine bay, to clean everything, make a new engine harness...change the hydraulic booster to a vacuum one, and also change the petrol pedal box to a diesel one with DBW on the intake.

Finally, the old engine is out, so it's a nice opportunity to remove the hydraulic booster, pedal box, change the clutch cylinder and clutch throw out bearing, etc., and then clean the whole engine bay, make a new engine harness, put vacuum booster there, change abs unit, replace brake bias valve...Audi Coupe Quattro 2.3 20V

Update:
Dashboard is removed
The hydraulic servo is removed
The heater core is removed
Now I have to clean the air vents as they are pretty dusty and then change the heater core, isn't leaking but I removed the dashboard because of the pedal box and ECU/engine harness removal. So in this case I will change the heater box as well. I Broke one plastic holder which holds ropes in place...Could be changed? or the whole heater rope has to be changed as one? Can't remember now which colour it was. But i will check later, if someone have, let me knowLast edited by Tom_; 12 December 2022, 16:59.Audi Coupe Quattro 2.3 20V

Thanks (as always!) for sharing your project work. The photos are great, too.
Hopefully someone can advise / help you. I've not had the pleasure (!) of removing the dash, yet. It's a job I plan to do next year. Would like to overhaul my ventilation system and replace the heater matrix also. It's all part of the 30 year 'plan'.
Good luck my friend

Finally I removed the pedal box and also change the heater flap insulation to aluminium tape. Heater box is washed but Febi heater core wont fit into the box. Its really tight. No chance of pushing it inside. I Will upload more pictures from todays work.
Thanks, hopefuly someone these pictures migth help.

I finally got a new 80mm custom radiator with stock 7A fan . Also changed pedal rubber pads and painted both pedals, to have them looking nice .
I made a new custom ECU holder for my MaxxECU Race on the stock location on the heater box . Looks and fits perfectly. Also I bought new steering rack and I looking for some company which refurb my old stock steering
I diassembled stock clutch cylinders . New ones are prepared, but I will make some custom stainless steel rods , which should last a lifetime.
I bought some gas pedal which i will customize and weld on the diesel gas linkage.
