Quick update on the S2. Just passed the MOT with no advisories.
I was hoping to have the heater matrix replaced (note the steamy windows in recent photos). Temporary solution is to blank off the matrix until i can get it done.
It's going to be warm and sunny for the upcoming meet/drive so the heater won't be needed
Not been the weather recently for driving a car with no heating! (i will sort this soon) Anyway today the weather is fantastic so grabbed a couple of quick photos
So today i decided to change my Lamda sensor which i've been meaning to do for ages. As is normal with these cars you have to remove something to get to the main bit you need. In this case the air box which is no big deal.
Anyway to my surprise when i lifted the air box out i found this directly underneath near the turbo...
It may look quite small in the photo but it's a massive bolt! Assuming this has not came loose from somewhere i can only imagine somebody has left this here while doing another job on the car
Anyway rant over i got the lambda swapped
old (probably original) vs new
That was my first thought Eric, but i'm fairly sure i got the old crank bolt from the mechanic last year when i had the belt changed along with the old water pump etc. Maybe it was from the time the belt was done before that...so 6+ years ago
Although i did have a custom down pipe made up a couple of years ago so they would have had the air box out then Surely they would have noticed a big bolt lying around. Bit of a mystery
