The rear track rods were finished and fitted. I happened to have a couple of new boots that fitted. Cv grease and stainless lock wire.
The wishbones were fitted with new nuts and bolts I got from Error here. They are passive zinc. The quality is excellent and they are only £7 for four.
Onto the rear struts.
The bearing surface needed a little clean. Soft wire wheel followed by 1000 grit wet and dry with oil lube.
Hubs got a clean.
And some zinc.
While that was drying, I got on pressing in a wheel bearing. I'm using fag. Same as we're on the car.
Two lock rings on this set up. Don't forget the inner one!
I'm using an old wheel bearing with the edge ground down a little to insert the bearing the final few mm.
And then the outer lock ring.
The insert tube always needs a good clean after sand blasting.
Let's dig out those nice new Koni shocks I've had for a few years now.

This is the part I enjoy. Assembling nice new parts. Lovely jubely.
The hub getting pressed in.
Remember to support the inner race when you do this!
Then onto shocks.
I have turned the setting up 180 degrees off full soft.
I've added 50ml of ep90 oil.
New bump stops and gaiters.
One down, three to go.

I had to invest in new ones. The fixing holes in yours are the bit that amazes me the most.Attached Files1996 S2 ABY Coupe silver

Another busy day in the garage.
Brake shields got some zinc.
Onto drive shafts.
Joints got a clean.
I mark cv joints so they go back as they were.
And put the new seal on while it's nice and clean.
A bit of tape protects the boot as you push it back.
And onto the car.
I always put some thread lock on the bolts.
