    • That dangler with the ro/bl wires is puzzling me right now... So is the last of the three stooges.

By the theory - your 217 in position 18 (top right corner) should be ro, ro/gn, ro/sw and br

COnfirms #08 and #10 as previous post - 100% on those two.

        • relay 217 (#18 currently on the panel) is the high speed fan relay and the one in the pic below should be the low/medium speed relay. Right??

          Comment

          • 217 (#18) is indeed Speed 3 (fastest)

Looking at your dangler - it can only be J26 for speed 1 - goes with br/sw + ro/br, ro/gn, 2 x ro/bl - so I am maybe not seeing the trace colours on the brown wire and red wire in your pic - or of course the schematic ain't perfect seeing as they never updated the digital climate loom from Oct 1992 - at least not RHD ones anyway.

See if you can buzz out the red or red/brown wire on your dangler - that should be common to a red or red/brown wire on the afterrun pump (324) - goes via T6r - shout if you need help on that... If J26 connects to J155 in this way then your dangler is definitely from MAIN relay panel to attach to position 3 - NOT in the footwell panel.

            • Another way to nail that dangler as J26 is that the two ro/bl wires should connect to monster 60A fuse on a permanent battery feed.

              • The airbag is a red herring - versions earlier than yours had a relay in #09 to drive the lamp, but your variant shouldn't - plus there are waay too many wires involved at the one last mystery.

                • Nailed it.... forgot you said the source loom was RS2 - that has a fancy control unit for trailer recognition and interaction with ECU to tell it to reduce boost when towing. Funky ehhh.

                  That is position 16 - J345 with wires as follows - gr, ro/sw, ro/gn, 2 x sw/li, gr (again), 2 x ro/sw, br/ro and bl/ro

Quickest way to test this is that the bl/ro wire should be common with bl/ro on that 324 module.

Yes, our dangler is sharing wires with the fuse . A simple continuity test confirms that the ro/bl wire is common to the two of them. So where does it go then??

Keep up - LOL - the dangler with ro/bl is for underside of MAIN relay panel where it plugs to position 03 (three).

                        • Only other curious thing is why you have nothing for position #04 in that relay plate - maybe you have the climate sub-loom not fitted yet ?

Yes, I haven't fitted the central harness yet and there are several relays on it that should fill those empty slots.

Speaking of the central harness.....I'm not really sure how that hangs under there. Got a picture?

                            • Its hard to describe alright... you know that the portion about drivers pedals screws into the dash panel ?

These screws secure it towards the centre console area where it branches north and south for the switch panel, aircon, cig lighter and such... Would need to dig out some pics but will be RHD and manual aircon of course so of limited use unless you flip them in photoshop. Regardless I should be able to pinpoint all the plugs by colour/shape/position or whatever.
