Simply stunning project, and we're lucky that you are sharing this with us.

      Keep up the good work!

      • Thanks both of you. I sourced the harnesses from several different cars so anything is possible I guess. I'll have to snuggle up with that .pdf tonight Paul. It looks like it will shed a ton of light on this stuff.

I just stuck them up there to get them out of the way, so I'm sure your probably correct. I'll move them.

I guess I need to fly you over for some Southern hospitality and little wiring help.

        • Maybe one of the LHD owning S2/RS2 folk can look at their relay plates to see where some more numbers line up. I think we are looking for what is in positions 4, 8, 10, 12 & 15 - please state what aircon is fitted as well.

I should really record all these relay numbers somewhere / someday - when I am more busy

Ahh OK - you send me the tickets and I'll be right over to the old stomping ground. I am so overdue a biz trip to the US that its not funny but such is life.

There is a fair bet you have 281 in the wrong place and one of the loose modules is actually gonna be the buzzer module for position #12.

Let me know the wire colours on the otehr modules if you can be bothered. Should be a mild challenge compared to 'aircon wiring wars' of recent times.

            • Its been bugging me that we now only have two missing relays according to your photo... there should be three... then I see one extra one dangling in your photo Tom - southwest of your thumb without a relay... that'll be for somethin

Send me an email and I'll explain some mysteries !

The central harness is from a 1995 RS2 with auto-climate control sans Tempomat.

I'm out in the garage now so I'll snap a pic or two of the connector wiring.

                • OK - cool... One of your modules will be for #4 for part of aircon - likely number 205, but wire colours will confirm.

The dangling relay holder is for the radiator cooling fan. I'll poke around and see if where the others are.

                    • You already have radfan speed #3 relay fitted in position #18 (top right corner) or are you saying that loose plug is from main fuse panel in the scuttle ?

                      • Here's some wire colours to help locate things and confirm existing stuff as well. Assume you are fluent in german colour coded. Don't be shy if not...

                        #04 - gn/br, sw/ro, sw/bl, gn/ge (compressor clutch for climate)

                        #08 - sw, gn, sw, br/br

                        #10 - sw, br, sw/gr, sw/ge

                        #12 - gr, ws, ro, br/ge

                        #15 - gr, ge/gn, ge/br, ge/sw, ge, br (bulb monitor)

                        #18 - ro, ro/gn, ro/sw, br

NOT all colours may be perfect for all years, but majority should be common. Lets see how that matches with some pics.

                            Thanks again.

Yessir, it's a late 1995 model so we've got airbags for both Fahrer und Beifahrer.

Here's the pic of the three stooges.

                            • OK - I can just about see the tracer colours, but looks like we have the following -

                              BLUE module is #10

                              BROWN module is #08

                              STudying the other one....

                              Cheers,

I was referring to the relay connector that you asked about in my first pic....southwest of my thumb. Here's the back side.

Also, should relay 217 be moved from location #18??? If so where does he live?
