I told you Tom about those screws....
OT: Hey yankee......did you get my mail by the way?
Stefano
LOL Yes, it's hilarious. I was bored and thought that I would assemble the air duct work knowing that those screws were nasty looking. I actually had second thoughts about posting the pictures. Funny how folks have noticed them. I guess I'll have to watch it from now on.
Yes, I got it. I had to rebuild my laptop and lost the mail, but it's still cached out on the server so I'll grab it and respond. We've had over six inches of snow here, which is a lot for the south. No work, just sledding in the back yard.
I picked up my new coolant reservoir along with new mounting hardware at the dealer last week so I popped it in this afternoon. Gotta find that cap. Hydraulic reservoir also installed.
I also set the RS2 ABS pump with the RS2 specific proportioning valve in its place. I will be buying new brake lines and bending them into place soon so I need it there to locate everything. I'm looking forward to using the double flare tool I bought a couple of years ago.
Moving right along I mounted the under hood trim that rests on top of the headlights using some new plastic rivets. Small, but necessary details.
Cleaned up the original German language fuse box cover and mounted the windscreen wiper assembly. Yes, I know the caps for the wiper arms are faded. New ones are on the way.

Tom,
There is a bit of rust on the top screw holding the plastic air guide on.
Seiously there are a few bits missing from the air box on my car that I am going to have to order now! The car is looking great.
That RS2 looks disgusting to say the least!!!
I'm really tempted to rip everything off from mine to have something like that....... something like a brand new RS2!!!
By the way something looks odd on that MAF screws they're not in the right place, they should go trough that holes and then you can twist the MAF according with the play that those holes give you, not much because the washers are then sitting there.....also I don't know if you have the big Oring that seats between teh MAF itself and the airbox (very important) but I'm sure you've done your homework buddy!
no Stefano, the MAF is absolutely correct installed. the screws and the washers are exactly on the correct place. Check out your cars and have a look where the screws are...
Ive been following this thread for a very long time. I have to say the attention to detail is amazing. You must be a very patient person to take on a project like this.
Silly question, how many paper towels and rags have you gone through, to clean all of the parts?
