Thanks for the kind words and support!

The head landed back yesterday after a holiday in warmer climates down south.

    Inlets

    Exhausts

Solid lifter cat cams, with adjustable pulleys, just clear the head casting

0.5mm oversized valves, black nitrided stainless inlet valves, and inconel exhaust valves

    Wagner inlet manifold port matched

And with the head and 7A cam cover

The inlets arn't polished. They have a rougher finish which is to promote air and fuel mixing. The exhausts have a more polished finish for maximum flow.

The rear tie rods and rose joints landed today. They were the last bits I needed to put the car back on its wheels when it returns. Also refurbished the steering rack and arms, they are also fitted with rose jointed ends. I might however change the arms to brand new ones with rose joints on either ends so I can do away with the factory left and right threaded section that I cant get from Audi without buying the whole bar!

I spot a crack... sparkplug hole -> left exhaust valve...

@rs200: depends on the amount of air that passes by. Shear force caused by the airflow against the wall results in powerloss due to the pressure drop.
              Google tip: Reynolds number.

Its just a small mark in the head I have just been to check. When I first bought the engine I was very suprised to see the head so crack free. There was only one tiny hairline crack.

Well the shell is due back on thursday, so I went for a look at it today to see how its progressing:

I have been cleaning the top garage this week so had to lay out all the parts downstairs that are going on the car. I was quite shocked to see how much there was! Theres more as well like windows, seats, engine parts that arn't in the pics!
