Sounds a beast mate, not long to go now
Have you thought about swapping for an S2 / V6 bumper? The larger lower grills might help with cooling, also looks really aggresive with the B3 lights and bonnet
Just a suggestion. You may want to rethink having that fan schrod on the front of the radiator. You are blocking a 1/4 of the radiator flow with it. You will notice that VAG rear schrods have flaps on the them for when a car is moving at speed. They open up and allow more air through the radiator.
I am running a S8 in my coupe. I had a radiator made to match the size of the B4, in width and length, that way it was a perfect fit. But it is made of copper/brass, which has better thermal dynamics than aluminum. It is a dual core, triple pass radiator. I am running a 12" spal fan on the back and 2 A4 AC fans on the front. Just cruising, the motor runs at just above 90C. One the front fans and the Spal are relayed off a temp sensor, and the 3 fan is hooked up to the AC unit.
The only time I need the 3rd fan is in traffic.
I agree with the suggestion of the S2 front bumper. I have also built schrods, in the front directing the air from the grill and the front bumper, toward the radiator. This helped a lot on track days. My radiator was made using the top and bottom of a B4 radiator. This allowed me to use the top of the B4 fan schrod, and use the hood seal that is there. Then I sealed the top of the radiator, where it meets the radiator cross member. With the front directed schrods, and seals, all air coming in the front goes through the radiator.
The other problem with cooling a V8 in a coupe, is the motor being right up against the radiator. The air passing through runs into a flat wall, slowing down the air flow coming through the radiator. And there is not a whole lot of room around the sides for it to go either.

They can have my car when they pry my cold dead fingers from the steering wheel.
And 90quattrocoupe i was going to ditch the shroud as soon au gutted the bumper as i could see it wasn't going to work well like that.
Removed now and temps seem stable.

Had the car up on the ramp today to have a good look around before I book it in for the dreaded MOT.
Got a couple of issues to deal with, need to replace a brake hard line for the rear which was an advisory last test when I replaced the other side, will replace the flexi to calliper at same time as last time they wouldn't separate.
And the big one is replacing the fuel hard lines. Theyre near enough rusted through in places, and one of them weeped a little when i wiggled the rubber clip holding it to the chassis.
Just spent ÂŁ70 on all the pipe and fittings etc, and change the fuel filter while im at it as it looks shot. Was going to do that about 4 years ago, but didnt fancy attacking the banjos as they looked foooked.
Done. Passed MOT on friday. insured and taxed. Did 400 miles round trip up north this weekend to see the folks, and driven 450 miles in total. No major issues so far, got a slight power steering fluid leak from the pump banjo fitting, and needs some idle tuning.
Oh, and i need a new ignition switch and barrel as the MOT tester goosed it forcing past the steering lock, so I currently have to start it with a screw driver.
Insurance was ÂŁ800 fully comp through adrian flux, all mods declared and limited mileage.

Well done!
Not a bad test run . How does it feel on the road?
Sucks about the ignition, where you not going mental at him?
He said he didnt do anything wrong, but it was fine when I dropped it off. He gave me a ring during to say that he couldnt get it started and I just said its probably just the immobiliser and to keep trying. They had to bump start it in the end. Should have gone up to supervise really. Im not too bothered, was done on mates rates so cant really complain about it.
Went through with just advisories on front numberplate deteriorated and noisy exhaust system
Feels pretty solid, theres more power in it yet though, its a bit on the lean side at WOT, only around high 13s so with a bit more fuel and sorting out the intake switchover properly it should get better and better.
I was worried about keeping it cool to be honest, but temps are rock solid, only the oil temp climbs when sat in traffic, upto 130ish but Ive swapped to some 5w50 oil so it doesnt thin out too much.
Feels like one of the front shocks has gone a bit soft though, sometimes feels like it bottoms out, but i think it could just be a top mount issue, again....
Brakes feel muuuuuuch better with the vacuum servo. Its a while since ive driven this car or my old S2 but the pedal feel is so much nicer over the hydraulic one. Much much direct and responsive.
I wrapped the bonnet matt black too, but it came out shocking, creases all over it as i nearly pulled the bonnet of the bench when trying to stretch it.
Just given the car a quick wash as it was looking a bit sorry for itself, hasnt had a proper wash with soap since it was laid up about 3 years ago.
Still looks utter **** as the paint is cream crackered but at least its semi-shiny now!!
Also got some bits on the way for a brake upgrade ive been planning for a while.
Brembo 4 Pots.
Plan is to strip them, paint them tart red and new decals.
Got a spare set of hubs and bearing carriers on the way so I can mock up some brackets to make them fit over MK1 Focus RS discs which are 324mm, should be a nice improvement over the 276mm G60s.
Also going to re wire up the 2-step rev limiter / launch control as I miss shooting flames out of the side of the car for fun / scaring the **** outa people.
Before it was just off a switch on the dash which wasn't practical for launching, as it would just smack into the lower limiter of 3400rpm as soon as you set off.
So going to implement a clutch switch together with an arming switch, so it will only be active if the switch is armed, and the clutch is depressed.
Its just for fun in this normally aspirated state, but will be lots of fun when this baby gets turbo'd.
Will be ordering my choice of turbo very soon from the states for shockingly cheap and rebuilding it myself.
And really need to sort out the power steering leak, my driveway is a right state.
