With the 034 Mounts, yes. They wrap aorund the starter pretty closely, and you can remove the mounts with the engine in situe as you cannot get at one of the bolt heads. Poooo.
Pretty sure its only got one terminal on it, I fooking hope so as Ive bought another today.....
Taken everything back out today, also removed abs wiring and ecu.
had it got two terminals on it like an s2 starter? if the starter spade is on the wrong one it wont crank

Wish I had known that about 6 hours before you typed it.
Why does the starter have a switched live feed? 15.? makes no sense to me, I just assumed there was only one terminal and that was the only one I could see with the engine in.
Ahh well, you live and learn. Saved me ÂŁ45 for a replacement anyways.
And heres one for you, on the confusion front, why does the ABS ECU have a connection from the alternator warning light (blue wire)??? Confused me earlier....
Nothing to do at work so Ive had a full day on the car.
Sorted a few things while the engine was out of the way.
Steering damper back in.
Made blanks to close off old hydraulic feeds to and from the brake servo.
Sealed over the body where I had to cut out the various brackets and battery tray.
Cleaned out the engine bay, lots of oil and various crap, well baked on.
Re-installed said starter....
Put the engine back in, getting a bit too familiar with subframe remove and install now, 5 minutes by myself to get it on or off, my back is fooked.....
With the engine in I wanted to check the outputs for the crank and cam position sensors, with my funky VR sensor mount adjusted, I get a nice 6.8v signal cranking the engine over, and when i dummyed it into the ecu I get a nice solid 59 teeth reading on the dashboard, perfect.
Heard people have had trouble getting the cam hall sender to work with the ABZ, mine is a 1 window affair and with it wired in to the ECU its syncing perfect. I think later versions had a multi window wheel.
Unfortunatly tomorrow I have actual work to do, ironically an engine change, so I wont get much time during the day. But i hope to get the plugs in, fuel lines connected and try for a test fire after work, or saturday at least.
