I wonder if the plugs were wet just from the output test. Presumably if the injector is activated it would spray a little bit of fuel. The hall sensor would not be in the loop for the output test.

    ********.

I thought fuel was from engine speed? Or is that just the fuel pump relay and the ecu only does injectors/spark when it sees crank and cam?

Bloody hell, it's frustrating isn't it.. I don't think I have anything to add apart from working through things logically.

Fact is though, if you've got no hall sensor signal at the correct time then you should have no fuel so something is not right..

Surprised it hasn't thrown a fault code if it is the hall sensor. It should recognize wiring as well as mechainical faults.
Previously it appeared to be indicating an alignment issue.

    Possibily!
Still a cheap one can do the other basic tests!

I have 5v and earth continuity, I never checked it against itself.

Trying to rustle up a dizzy to borrow tomorrow.

Popped the dizzy out, 13mm crescent spanner makes it easy, I wish I had thought for that before!

Just looks like a dizzy to me, anything I can check?

Cheap ones dont react fast enough?

I saw the LED one, just dont have LEDs lying about the garage.

Check for the 5V reference as well.
Looking at the wiring the grounding for the hall sensor looks to be on the same circuit of the other sensors you mentioned previously. So check for the 5V against the hall sensor ground and then a known good ground to double check.

(Multimeter set to 20v, black lead on IM, red lead on middle pin of dizzy plug)

Just tried that, not a thing from the multimeter.

I guess the hall sensor in the dizzy shat itself?

You have eliminated the flywheel pin so the hall sensor is the next obvious culprit!

pin3 is the signal wire for the coil
are you sure the dizzy is ok?
You can measure the signal at the green wire with a multimeter, just put the meter on volt(dc),the black pin on ground or brown/yellow wire and your red pin on the green wire
by cranking the voltage goes up and down

I have continuity from coil plug 1 signal wire back to the ecu
