Good to see my old top mounts being put to good use, it's worth noting that Compbrake now offer them with a 'comfort ring', I expect they'd sell you a pair seperataly, the locking srcew is a great idea. I may end up buying another set for the front yet, I'll see how you get on with modding these.

That Rad should be a big improvment, I did think the little Nissen you had wouldn't be up to the job, I had one the same and didn't bother fit it.

Just got to see how long your clutch last's now! Mine crapped itself after a couple of K miles, to be fair I think it was fairly worn anyway. The SRE one I order last week arrived yesterday, looks like something for a small truck so I can't see me needing another for a long time if ever.

Radiator looks ok, a bit rough and ready though. I did not realise its a Winner Racing radiator from China. I though it was a forum member and in stock, otherwise I would probably have got the same one Kit got.

Almost, wagner intake, and still need to make a 3" exhaust.

Then some driving before the merry go round starts again.

I have already been looking at the billet RS2 turbo upgrade, and k26 billet to go north of 400. (I reckon that would finish my clutch though )

Cheers Kit, I did not know that.

I did not have any issues so far with the 10v rad, but would rather be safe than sorry.

Yeah, clutch is on the list, it will be an SRE if/when it goes.

Next lot of mods will be to enhance the current setup, and support the next potential turbo.

Grub screw for a cleaner install

Opened the catch tank for a look, in on the right

New knock sensors in, worthwhile maintenance

Drilled the rad for the fan shroud, swapped the sensor and popped the rad in loosely

Snapped the power steering hose in the process and left the car in disgust

Dammit! A few people seem to have had those break up on them recently.
I can't see they are that efficient anyway. Maybe you can create something with a proper mini oil cooler?

Does the PAS fluid tend to get too hot? I know the honda turbo boys used to just bin their coolers, with no apparent ill effect.

I bodged this together with the old elbow cut down, some silicone hose and some copper tube

                  Radiator bolted in and filled.

I think the G004000 fluid gets super thin when it gets too hot so it is probably necessary.
Maybe you can adapt a cooler off a Toureg to attach to the front chassis side of the rad?

Car developed a knock from the front end, so checked it out this afternoon, OSF wheel bearing has play

                      Hub carrier out

                      Knocked the hub out

Pulling the inner race off the hub

I cant get the outer race out the carrier at the moment, but I think I will just drop it off at a friendly garage and get it pressed in/out. A press is too much dead space for how often it would get used.

And going to get a new set of pads before Knockhill on Sat, currently planning on DS2500 unless anybody has any suggestions?

If you want to get the old outer race out of the carrier without a press, give it a quick clean then run a thick bead of weld right round the inside of the race itself, it will then contract slightly and pretty much fall out of the carrier.

Even though I always remove outer races from hubs in that way I normally press them in as I have access to an hydraulic press, however I have done it by making a puller with threaded bar and some dirty great washers and the old outer race with a little ground off.

                              New wheel bearing fitted.

                              New DS2500 front pads fitted.

Chased threads on NS shock (have always been tight/damaged, I just never remebered to buy a M14 1.5 die until now).

                              NS compbrake top mount fitted.

I added more holes to the lock ring so one is always easily accesible

Also had a damaged ball joint boot, so popped it off

Scavenged one off and A4 arm (I should really just buy a boot kit!)

                              And good to go again

I did a quick leak test, and have a leak that acts like a pressure relief valve, no leaks under 20 psi, once you get to 25psi it goes "pssss" down to 20 psi and stops again

Its in the turbo area, so will pop off the bumper and sort it tomorrow night.

Also going to take a hole saw to the front bumper again for some more intercooler airflow, might even JDM it up for the track
