£50 for powerflex wishbone bushes (set of 4 ebay) Meyle HD £9 each
ARB bushes are relatively cheap

A 1993 ABY that has been stored in a garage for a while and has rust issues

Pretty filthy
s some rust.

Though it does clean up

Sp short term I plan on sorting the brakes, sort the rad, make sure all is running ok, bodge the hole, duct tape on the rust, throw it in for a MOT and then decide what to do with it.

Yup, the rear quarter is proper rotten. I dunno if it will pass an MOT, but for £35 I think the fail sheet is worth it and I can then decide what to do, hence fudge something once car is otherwise roughly MOT ready, (what I can do without spending money, just my time)

If I put the car back on the road then I will attack the rear quarter properly, you project thread just got a whole lot more interesting to me

It would be nice to save it if possible, it has carbon trim, black quattro interior, stainless cat back, if it is not salvageable then it has a pile of goodies for my 3b, a spare engine to build, or an S2 saloon project, lots of options but will see about fixing it first.

Sounds like a good plan to me, nothing to really lose either way. I have lots more pictures I haven't posted so if you want to see anything in particular just shout up. With these S2's now getting quite long in the tooth I'm guessing most will have areas of rust that will need sorting in the next few years, just a shame Audi isn't as willing to support them as much as the enthusiasts!

And it has a clutch issue;

When you depress the clutch there is only spring resistance until the last inch of travel, and you have to press the pedal hard into the carpet to get the clutch to disengage. When the clutch pedal is released it only returns one inch (but engages), you can pull it back past that point and it jumps back up.

I have taken of the tray under the steering column and when the clutch is pressed the linkage pushes the rod into the bit in the firewall (even in the first bit of pedal travel)
