Damn water injection units...!
yesterday playing around with the water injection i realised it only starts injecting after 1.6bar of boost no matter what i set in the controller...
so i ordered a new one to replace. damn those things dont have a good life span...Comment

Why dont you use smt like this?

You can controll it with NOS table in the VEMS for example. Looks many times easier than with a separate controller in my mind.

Any example of the vems config for this setup please? Why dont you use smt like this?

Looking at the table looks very easy only thing missing is adjustable duty cycle for a progressive system but I wouldn't care about that.Last edited by Jamo; 28 November 2011, 10:12.Comment

in that way it could be used in the alternative boost settings i suppose but the trouble is that you have to manually test how much DC is required for how much water to pass through the solenoid in order for the injector to have linearity and also be boost madiated linearity.
in the alternate boost settings there is a 3d table you can use, but it would still need a manual way of checking how much water is passing through.
since the replacement ecu is on its way, ill stick with that solution for now!Comment

There is no need for progressive system. A friend of mine is using 500+cc nozzle without progressive system. He is using 50/50 mix of water and methanol.
Settings for example
You put +12V all the time to the solenoid and with vems you control ground to the solenoid. Easy.
Some time ago there was for Boost and NOS solenoids tabels in VEMS were you could easly set solenoids duty, but unfortunatly they have removed them. They could just add for NOS analog graph as is for Boost solenoid. That way you could make it progressive also.Audi UrS4 609hp/846Nm @ wheels

well 390 whp is almost near to 470-490 crank according to the dynodynamics (that dyno calculated 464hp crank when it registered 367whp and the virtual dyno was slighlty more strict than that dyno as well!)
ill put it this way: with my 0.82AR a 490hp run which i calculated with the perfomance box gave around 381whp on the virtual dyno.
If it is now making more than 380whp, then id say on a positive note that its looking at 500hp crank!
@ RST: i like the progressiveness of the controller, as i dont want to have any quenching with the overflow of water.
How do you connect the solenoid to the pump? Or do you always have a 12V at the pump as well ?Comment
