Nothing special have happend to the car, have only drive it. Starts fine even in -20-30C and it is really a warm winter car. Had some small issues with the MAF, the engine check light turn on sometimes and the power was cut down. Don't really know what was wrong. Tried a RS2 MAF but the mix was awry with it. Changed back to stock MAF and all seems to work fine now.

Have also keept on collecting parts:

    H-beam rods - from aronmatic2
1.8T coil conversion kit - have to do some diy work with the harness
AEM Dryflow filter 9" - for bigmaf conversion

And after a whim I bought a set of carbon trims from hermanio, couldn't resist.

      Bah...
      Don't buy 1.8T coils.
If you still can, change them for 2.5TFSI coils.

Do you have a part number for those? Does the same connectors fit them? Was about 50:50 do I buy the 1.8T coilkit, they are not the most durable ones, I know... but it's a matter of time when a stock coil fails so I need some backup. I bought the set(all new but quite cheap) from a private person so I can't change them, but they can be updated.

Maybe a external coilkit would be the most durable choice..?

No. Need to look in ETKA.

          Yes.

2.5TFSI should be good enough for your power target.

Finally I got the steel wheels from the machine shop, they cut 2" of the wheels. At the weekend I welded them together, finished, sandblasted and painted them. The wheels was 7x16", now they are 5x16" and should fit the icetrack tires nicely. Have to hurry up, the winter and ice is soon gone...

Got some paint also on the breather-modded valvecover and the diy-oilseparator:

Thanks. Well, here's lot of snow left, and the ice is still thick on the lakes, but every weekend there is something extra to do. Now I have to change the AC/heater-blower on my Bimmer. It's a day project, you have to remove the whole dashboard...

Mate, can you expand on what was required to move the radiator back to accommodate the IC - I would like to fully understand what was required, how and the natural associated headaches. It looks like a good job and doesn't have that residual 'Who F****** Wants Some?' look to it?

I only modded the fittings a bit. On the lower fittings I drilled a hole so I could fit the rubber bushing about 20mm deeper. Same on both sides.

The upper fittings I just bended so the whole radiator is ~20mm deeper inside. Very simple, you don't even need to remove the radiator.
I don't have AC, so it helps a bit.

It's painted with VHT Wrinkle Plus paint. Quite easy to do, but you need to watch out so it not pour, the paint is thin and you have to spray thick layers. You also have to heat up the item you have painted. "Bake at 200°F (93°C) for 20 minutes."
