ok now ive had a little break away from the car i decided to refit the quick rack and see if it works and its still fooked
i changed the rack only nothing else and ive had it stipped and checked and it all looks ok but when fitted its goes full left all on its own???
it has to be in the rack as the std one done the rally without fault
iam over it , i need a new quick rack but not from 034

Well it seems I was lead astray by someone as to which was pressure and which was return in this rack
Should have confirmed it myself but anyway swapped the hoses and away we go

iam about to get the PAR gearset underway and they tell me they do a locked centre diff for the 01E
I also heard a rumor that the STD torsen centre which iam running at the moment could be a weak point??
how much gravel rally abuse will they take??
Is a locked centre a good or bad idea??
car has locked rear and a wavetrac front diff at the moment

I wouldnt want to lock the centre diff. Straight 50/50 split isnt really what you want...

I run a standard torsen centre diff and it hasn't let go despite some serious abuse. They do a solid shaft which fits in its place. I would have thought for rallying the car you would want to keep the option to use the handbrake which the torsen offers? Only other way around it would be to get a plated diff?

true i had forgotten about the handbrake, ive got three spare torsens so i might stay with them

OK its been awhile , guess ive been having too much fun driving the car to update here!!!
car has been good, few minor probs such as breather and rack but they are allsorted now
The std box is out of the car at the moment and its getting a PAR gearset fitted and i cant wait for a drive with it in. Till now its been a pain as you would know 1st is too low and we did a rally early last month and clocked 205.5kms/hr and still had 6th to go, the youtube footage really shows the gaps in the box
Our plan is to get the box in and test it and then if it needs it a sequetial shift and hope to have the car 100% sorted before the OZ WRC in sept

Well the PAR dog box is in and now we have a real rallycar. Its awsome
we ended up with
2.91 1st
2.0 2rd
1.56 3rd
1.33 4th
1.11 5th
0.95 6th
with 4.11 S2 diffs
i thinks however we will need a sequential shift soon .Iam going to try H pattern for a while but dont think i will kept up
SQS shift i think will be the go, are there any others i need to look at??

Will be interested to hear how you get on with the PAR. I have considered one for a while but cant make my mind up. Great to see the car continues to get a lot of use.
