To stop oil from draining back from the head to the sump when the engine is off?

        • No There is a nonreturn valve in the block.
I think to save the hydros.
If the Relief Valve in the oilpump not open you have 8 bar in the System.
But that's just what i think

            2. How does it save the hydros (aka the 034109309AD "cam followers")? By preventing oil drain back? OR ??

No idea. I can't even find a part number or a name for it in the 7A head info. Maybe you can:

The only thing i can find that seems similiar is a oil spray jet that is mounted to some 10v heads.. No.29 Art nr: 035103643B

But i can't find anything like it on a 20v head. Here are some more pics of the head.

                  • Rear upgrades

                    New winter, new projects..

This winter i will build a "new" cylinder head to the car and also rebuild a old Urs6 rear end that was over from my donator Urs6.

Yesterday i started to split the old rusty thing

Everything will be sandblasted and powdercoated. I will leave it to the powdercoating company tomorrow. New screws, bolts and washers will be ordered. Bushings will be ordered from Albert.

I also have my 7A head waiting for some uppgrades, the things i will do to the head is:

                    Sandblasted and cleaned

                    Ported by CP-S

                    4130 Chrome molly Retainers

                    Harder valve springs

                    Light weight lifters

                    Supertech intake valves +0,5

                    Supertech exhaust valves inconel +0,5

                    7A camshafts

And of course all other necessary things that you do when you rebuild a head.

                    • Back from powdercoating

So today i picked up my parts that have been at the powdercoating company. They look nice. As i'm trying to save up money for my cylinderhead i will take it easy with all the bushings and other things i have to order. Think i will order bushings from albert in the end of the month. New screws, bolts and washers are ordered from Germany and hopfully they will turn up next week. Here are some pics on the shiny bits

Everything except the rear sway bar(that is silver painted) painted half shiny black.

The wheel bearings will be changed...

                      • Nice things.
I hope to rebuild my urs bottom too in this winter.
But I am thinking how powdercoat resist rocks what fly under the car? I have powdercoated wheels and a little knock takes 1 cm2 powdercoat off.

My front struts, front subframe are powdercoated and i haven't had any damage to them caused by rocks. I think it has a lot to do with the prework.

In the south of Sweden they are very happy with putting lots of salt on the roads during the winter... But luckily this is just a summer car so i hope it will stay in shape for many years.
