  • New pieces for the rear axel

Today my bolts, nuts and washers arrived. Nothing special, just new original stuff. I hate to put "new" pieces together with old rusty bolts
The wheel hubs will be sendt to be black galvanized this week to.

Received some bushings to the rear wishbones and rear sway bar. Collecting parts to the rear end slowly... But i have no rush, as far as it is finished to the spring

      • The day has arrived

Today i shipped my 7A head to CP-S. They will put some work on the head
A delayed christmas gift to myself
It will stand rpm's up to 8300 according to Cp-s.
Some things that will be done to the head is:

        Ported by CP-S

        4130 Chrome molly Retainers

        Harder valve springs

        Light weight lifters

        Supertech intake valves +0,5

        Supertech exhaust valves inconel +0,5

        7A camshafts

        Water channels machined

        Hall sensor mounting welded

        More studs for exhaust manifold
And of course all the other things you do when you restore a head.

I don't know where they are from or if they are just lighter than stock.

                      • Exhaust

A few days ago i picked the car up from it's winter storage. It was a fun drive home
I started working on the exhaust as i think it was to quiet. I started with building a dummy for the cat. I replaced my 3,5" magnaflow cat with a cleaned out 3,5" cat. Directly on the test drive the car hit overboost at 2,4bar. I think the cat was holding the turbo back, maybe a lot of backpressure? Well i think that will be sorted out when remapping later after i have changed the head and cams.
Picture of my fake cat with v-band flanges for easy swapp:

Then it was time to make some changes to the sound. I decided to remove the last of the two silencers that are still mounted on the car. I welded on a v-band flange so that i can change between loud and less loud. I will make some brackets for the exhaust pipe and weld on a nice end pipe. The rear end will also be fixed in a couple of weeks..
                        Without silencer:

                          • Late Christmas gift to myself

So today i went to the post office to pick up my refurbished 7A head. Rushed home and open up the box to find this beauty

New oversized supertech valves +0.5 on intake and exhaust, exhaust valves are inconel.

                            Exhaust port before and after:

                            Intake port before/after

In a couples of weeks i will start to mount the new head on the car. This head is rated to rev up to 8300 rpm. Lets just see when it stops making power. Hopfully it will produce som extra power

                              • Started to work on the rear end

So, this weekend i started to assemble the rear end. Started with the wheel hubs and put in new bearings

New bearing pressed in to place, then wheel hub.

Then i started to mount my polyurethane bushings

And at last, started to test mount some pieces. I need to buy some more pieces to the rear subframe before i can proceed with the work.
