80q b4 2.2 20vt project

Stock engine with I-beam rods and 7A cams. 5462 comp turbo with .48 hot side. 3" exhaust and Vems ecu.

The engine clearances are on the bigger side so it can be that there is little extra blowby, but compared to other audi builds(on youtube) the vapor amount doesn't seem to be so strange.. Not very many have the breather outlet in a visible place like that.

Yesturday we had West Coast Street Cup 1/4 mile challenge here locally. The car hold up for 4 launches.



Quite long time since last 1/4 mile dragrace and different car than last time so it was a little bit difficult to get a good launch. Was also nervous of what will break. 60ft times was very poor 2.145s, 2.308 and the best 2,053 which also gave the best total 12,415s. Some guy from the audience told that it was just spinning the wheels to the 60ft marker, so no suprice the times was so bad.. Even tried to warm up the wheels a bit with small burnout before the launch. Good thing is the 01A gearbox did take the abuse, it held up. But in the last launch left rear driveshaft snapped so had to end it there.

Would easily manage to get 11.xxx times with it if the traction would be better.

Seems that the shaft itself was ok, but the outer joint was broken.

Hmm, I'm not sure. 33 teeth spline, propably 75mm if you mean bearing size..?

Bearing size yes. I thought that 2.8 came with 82mm bearings and 38 splines.

Hmm, seems that saloon and avant has different part numbers. But then there is 4x108 and 5x112 hubs for both versions. So is there a 4x108 "big" hub available?

Ok, so this is from Avant, and has 38 tooth spline... Hmm..

Just checked my parts pile and I have a pair of hubs and carriers from 2.6 avant and they are 82mm and 38 splines, so maybe it is avant thing.

Hubs are custom made?
Crazy expensive, in front he can use C4Q rears as he already has 82mm housings and in the rear use S2 82mm hubs and carriers, prices seems to be 200-300€ for a pair.

Rear driveshafts under b4 q chassis for 82mm housing are only available on S2/RS2 avant/sedan. Not even B5 S4 has them.
You have welded center/rear diff or everything is stock there?

As I said before some V6 avants on B4 also have 82mm/38 spline hubs and carriers in the rear.
