Now the b4 is running again. Yesturday we swapped a new 01A trans in on my friends car lifter. The new trans is from an totalled S2, so had to swap over the old 100mm driveshaft flanges.
Everything got quite smooth without any bigger problems. But when I took the car for testdrive there was a quote loud abrasive clicking sound. Not good. Anyway drove it home, and today looked under the car to see if there is anything strange visible... Turned the propshaft over few times and this was how it sounded:

The noise seemd to come from the rear part of the trans, and in fact the rear part was slightly bended, propably in the crash. Seemd that it has got a hard hit. Maybe the bearing was broken? It had also started to leak oil.
So i decided to swap over the whole rear part, the torsen diff cover from the old trans. Small vid of the two torsen covers...

But it fixed the problem and now everything works fine... Untill it's time to do the 01E swap...

Some small things done again. Changed oil and filter today, had to test cheap Mannol 10W-60 racing oil. Just for summer use. Have to use something else in the winter. When the oil was out, I decided to make an oil drain back to the sump. As I don't have any bung in the oil pan I had to mod the drain plug. The catch can had a threaded(plugged) hole in the bottom, so it was very easy to add.
Also all needed parts for the 01E swap has been found. B5 2.5tdi prop shaft which is the same as S4/RS4, 6 gear shifter, 6 gear linkage, 100mm driveshaft flanges and mount protos made. Thanks to JuizeR for the prop shaft and 6 gear shifter.

To keep the promise of destroying the 01A() I had some dyno mapping today. Car worked fine without any faults or issues, but the 500hp level seem to be hard for this small a/r .48 turbine housing. Best result was 496hp, but it was on the knock limit so the tuner reduced the timing a bit. Safe result is 488hp/621Nm.

Filip, yea, next weekend 1/4 mile drag race. Also Botniaring audifinns track day is planned if the car is fine.
Des, boost tapers down quite a lot, keeps the curve flat. The extra torque is nice compared to previous result.
