  • I think the spikes will fly away from the winter tyres if making launches like this on tarmac. Also they look fugly with 15" steel wheels. There's a pic of those tyres in the first post.

Have to say, I'm very pleased with this turbo. It's superb on street as it starts to make boost at 2krpm and makes 1bar at 3krpm in 4th gear. Also the response is very fast in gear changes, it starts to boost immediately without lag. This of course compared to a couple of stages bigger Holsets.

Edit. Greg, seems that embedded videos doesn't work.

          • Some acetone vapor treatment. Turned out quite good. Could have been better if I had smoothen out most small lines and lumps with sandpaper before the threatment.

Have you used this yet? If so, is it any good and how long do you have it on for?

Yes, almost every day in winter time. Usually 2h warming time max. Almost every car here has a motor warmer, this electric block heater or different hose warmer(Defa, Calix) or diesel/gasoline warmers(Webasto, Eber, Binar). Also almost every apartment here has a parking place with electricity connection(with a timer clock) just to easy connect your car for heating.

And after about 2h warming in minus 5-10C motor temp is something like 25-45C degrees.

                    • You are printing ABS without enclosure? Don't you have warping and layer separation problems?

I have the same printer. Making engine mount patterns for aluminium casting mold.

                      • I don't have any enclosure for it yet, it's a quite big printer, so needs very big box. I have modified(insulated) the heat bed so I get the bed temperature up. This I printed with 275C nozzle temp and 100C bed temp and at quite slow speed. Also adjusted for 103% flow, after some while I rised flow to 105% and later to 107% and 109%, , final layers with 105%. I think it helped so the part didn't tried to bend so badly. Only the other front corner lifed maybe 1mm or so. If there is some small layer imperfections the acetone threatment melt everything together, it will rise the strength of the part. I have now the part in the engine bay, so will see how it hold up different temps and vibrations...

Very nice printed moulding parts, printed from PLA? Please post pics of the casting.

                          • Well, I may print few pieces, but I will first test how the plastic holds in the engine bay.

Hello good morning, I have a similar project with AAN collector in my S2 and I would like to know, if you were so kind, to leave me the file with the design to be able to print it at home the protector of the injectors, it seems a fantastic job for me. doing, I am also very interested in your project to be able to put an AC radiator on the front, just like you have the engine cooling.

A GREETING AND THANKS IN ADVANCE

                              • BTW, here is the dyno plot of the power curve. Had totally forgot about it. Seems that on dyno 1bar is about 1krpm later than on street with the same gear(4). Doesn't seem to shoke on top, also doesn't feel that, so I guess it could be ok to just screw up the boost some and see if 500hp could be possible..
