  • Id's stick with a 10w-40, ideally a good synthetic one.

    • For a Skoda Superb 1.8T with 193HP? What is the Best that can be used? Does it take only Longlife oil or can I use the usual Ester suspects in 5W-40?

2007, no more warranty and normal use but in the hot Greek summer.

      • Hi

What year is it? Is it under warranty? What sort of use does it get?

        Cheers

        • Would you recommend using Militec 1 with every oil change??

          • I don't recommend the use of oil additives, this article explains it

It is a 2007 model. Mixed use mostly highway. No more warranty!

              • In that case one of the ester 5w-40s will be ideal.

                • Browsed the topic, but could not find a very recent advice on the below:

                  My car
                  Make - Audi
                  Model -RS2
                  Year - '94
                  KM's - 156.00km
                  Engine Type - ABU
                  Engine Size - 2.2
                  Modifications -Standard
Driving style - Driven few times a month, when warm love to use the boost from 3500rpm.

Advice from Castrol (I have used Castrol in my other cars) Castrol EDGE 5W-30 but I also see a lot of Castrol EDGE Sport 10W-60 as advice.

Corrected the engine code for you .

I'm using 10W-50 on mine, not sure of the brand I forgot but it wasn't cheap.

                        Hi

I wouldn't use either of those in your car, a good 5w-40 is a better choice.

                        http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition.

                        Cheers

That is a very good oil, but too thick. A 10w-50 is a better option.

The Nanodrive CFS is, on paper, the best oil available, but the Pro S and CFS are both really good oils, so all are good choices for your car.

                          Cheers

                            • Tim,

Thanks for your recommendations! Question: most oils you post as best ones are oils for motorbikes, according to the webpages of the different brands.

Is there a reason you would recommend these motorbike oils above the car oils the manufacturer recommends? For instance Fuchs recommends TITAN GT1 5W-40 for the RS2. The Fuchs Titan Race Pro S is the motorbike oil.

                              • Hi

The link is to car oils. Certain ones can be used in bikes, but they are definitely car oils. Silkolene Pro 4 Plus 5w-40 is the bike equivalent of the Fuchs Pro S 5w-40.

The GT1 is fine, but the Pro S is a better oil due to the ester content.

                                Cheers
