With those kind of temps, I would probably go for a 5w-50.

The Motul and Red Line are the best options, but they are all good oils.
Cheers

Just wondering whether my previous choice of oil was the right way to go, may do another oil change before putting the car back on the road:
- Audi S2 Avant
- 1993
- Standard other than de-catted, however a remap is definitely in order
- Relaxed driving style, with occasional bursts of boost and less frequent enthusiastic drives over the moors/through Wales
The oil I bought last time was Castrol Synthetic 5w-40, can't remember how I came to the conclusion that that was the oil of choice though
Thanks

Hi
A 5w-40 makes sense to me.
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx
Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul Sport/300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XF Longlife, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Gulf Formula G/ULE, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.
Cheers

My mate is also going to be doing an oil change on his BMW. Can you give a recomendation for this?
- BMW 330d
- 2000
- Turbo Diesel
- 2926cc
- Some ECU chip fitted (don't know more than that as it was already fitted whe he bought the car) and stright through exhaust
- Aggressive driving around town 60% of the time
Thanks

Hi
he needs an oil that meets the BMW LL98, LL01 or LL04 specification.
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-684-bmw-longlife-98.aspx
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-685-bmw-longlife-01.aspx
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-686-bmw-longlife-04.aspx
Those oils are all good options as they need to be to meet the BMW specification, so take your pick based on any price/brand preference you have, although if it burns at lot of oil, go for one of the 5w-40s.

Does anyone have any experience with high ZDDP content oils?
I'm considering switching exclusively to Pennrite for my new stroker motor.
Previously, I've been using 5w40 Shell Rotella T6.Find me on Instagram @pry4sno

I would use a 5w-40 synthetic.

Too high a ZDDP level can be harmful and we don't deal with Penrite, so I can't offer much more than that.Use the code S2F and get 10% Club Discount
