Hey dude,
Yes it is on a stainless but although I had no AFR on the car on the stock system it ran just the same.
I run the stock sensir just as normal for the ecu then the wideband a little further down solely for the gauge. It's an innovate set up.
I think it was a combo of the stock ecu tending to be slightly lean (God knows why!) and the tired MAF just ripping it over the edge?Leave a comment:

Glad you got it sorted
Even if it's not all explained..
Does the car have a non standard exhaust? That could make it run leaner than stock.
Are you using 2 Lambdas? One narrow band and one wideband? Or are you using the narrow band output from the controller? What make AFR meter is it?Leave a comment:

Thank you!
I must say, with all the leaks cured, new sensors and COP conversion I can honestly say it's never been this fast. It's lovely!Leave a comment:

Yeh, I'm sure you're right but for a generic I'm just pleased to see it NOT at high 13's to lie 14's. It'll do just fine until it goes RS2 set up with a custom map by (hopefully) Dmitri.Leave a comment:

Mid 12 afr still sounds slightly on the lean side of perfect on a chipped ecu. Not far away but 12 dead would be safer?Leave a comment:

Glad you finally got this sorted Rich
Now go and burn a tank of V-powerLeave a comment:

Only part I cannot explain is why the stock ecu was running the car too lean!Leave a comment:

Fixed! :-D
It's strange but I don't think there was a single definite fault. Yesterday my new MAF turned up. Fitted that and wend for a run, AFR was down from the 14 region to the mid 13's so difinitely better (don't trust just measuring yours!) but still not perfect. I don't know why I did what I did next but I popped the mapped ecu on the car and it went better than it's ever done. AFR is down to mid 12's at peak torque goinb to low 12's at higher RPM. It'd be easy to blame the stock ecu itself but the car used to be terrible on the mapped one too. The conclusion I come to is that various 'tired' components were contribution to what in the end was a subtle flat spot at peak torque that a lot of people couldn't even feel.Last edited by HMS-S6; 14 December 2014, 08:19.Leave a comment:

Was that test done completely? Both ends of PCV disconnected? Since the boost leaks were fixed?
Just checking.Leave a comment:

I know this will bring on more abuse from our Canadian 'friend' but that test has already been done in afraid :-(
I'll try this MAF and when that doesn't work I'll check the basket but I can't ignore that Dmitri spotted the load was significantly down.Leave a comment:

Blimey chaps settle down
Rich, sorry to be back to banging on about leaks but..
This is what I would try.. Disconnect the entire PCV system. This means disconnect the cam cover pipe at the MAF hose and block the hole in the MAF hose securely.
Disconnect the T pipe from the IM and cap the nipple on the IM securely with a piece of hose and a bung. You can leave the PCV pipes themselves open, you will just get a bit of oil vapour and smell.
This will completely rule out any unmetered air leaking in via the PCV pipes, components, or engine seals, oil cap etc.
If you still gave a problem then, with a known good MAF and Lambda sensor, then I think it has to be a fuel delivery problem.Leave a comment:

Not that I need explain myself again Dave but I've a 10 year old, a 6 month old, a Missus and work for myself for 12-14 hours a day. It may be a surprise that I do t come home and jump straight to it!!Leave a comment:
