    • All fixed
If you are doing this job, stagger the connections otherwise they are not keen on going back in their holes

      • And my pesky boost cut came back. I finally got around to changing the gold MAF connectors that I got from Alex.
        Test drive after dinner.

Which crimp tool do you need for them? I still havent managed to fit the MAF pins I brought. Probably had them in the drawer a couple of years already

          • The tool I have is the proper Durite JPT tool. However, it wasn't closing the collar properly over the cable insulation and I had to finish off each one using the normal non insulated crimp tool. The pins do actually fit in the normal tool but it wasn't starting off as well as the JPT tool. Maybe it needs adjustment but the jaws are closing completely do I don't know how.

            • I've had the same wiring issue in my coupe tailgate loom. It makes you wonder why the loom through to the door never gives problems but the tailgate which gets opened a lot less does... I hope saying that's not somehow magically broken my door loom now!

              • Ours fell apart about a decade ago and exactly the same. Methodically re-shouldered it all and bound it up in insulation tape then waterproof duct tape and it’s been fine ever since... That’s dog in and out twice a day, like fine....

                • I have a lovely evening drive and it’s better but still cutting boost above 1bar.

                    • Slowly working my way through all the causes of boost cut.
I made my own leak test kit.

And checked the bypass valve, wastegate diaphragm and swapped the N75. Still not identified the culprit. I have a two pin MFTS on order.

                      • I was convinced ours was the MFTS, sadly....

Swapped N75 to Rallyrep (working N75) and renewed all boost hoses...

Meh... But, in cool air density like this morning it “thinks about” going N75 then “checks back”... Might just have to hook up the Turbosmart and methodically watch the boost gauge again to see how much pressure the system can hold.

                        • Have you checked the throttle body hose where the hose clamps fit and also the intercooler to x member connection?

                            Yes, no leaks.

                            • Don't test from the MAF hose, it's not designed for boost and they tend to blow up from the stress. Rather try pressurising directly to the Turbo inlet (disconnecting PCV) or to the turbo exhaust hose.
