Make them square you mean? Possible. I haven't given up yet. A few more options to consider before I give up.
I have another problem in that my boy has seen the golf and think it would be a nice car for him

It was snowing hard between Hereford and Gloucester by the time we set off home. Thank god for the quattro, the cheaper cars were going backwards

Thanks to Mk2i I now have a bonnet strut bracket.

Had my great Jasic pro mig in action (welds haven't been cleaned in pic). I thought I was a rubbish welder until I got it. Now I know I'm a rubbish welder!

Primed the tank straps and underbody protection in Zinc paint.

On the last pic, please can someone tell me what's missing? It's the nearside strut. I think it might be a bracket that holds the header tank on?

There are 2 small brackets missing that hold the coolant header tank
Also it looks like the tops have been chopped from your ABS pump bracket

Thanks John. You probably recognise those brace brackets? They are next on the welding list.

Anyone got header tank mounts and ABS pump bracket?

The third header tank bracket is on the inner wing at the front of the tank. Is that one missing too?
I’ll pop the tank out the way and have a look see if anything else is missing behind it.

Whats the deal with bracket cutting over there? Sent a cruise control mount bracket to one guy few weeks back. Told me that on RHD cars only V6 and S2 had this bracket.
Seems like you are missing also that one.
Didn't know your coolant tank mounts were also missing, I could have thrown them also in the package.

M2Ki, thanks again. I have the bracket in the above pic. Yes, it has been cut off but at least I have it.

I didn't realise I was missing them, otherwise I would have mentioned that before.

It's slowly warming up over here in west Wales, and just like my bees, I've ventured out of the warmth.

I've been stripping down the hubs and cleaning them down, ready for re-painting.
I did have a quote for sand blasting and powder coating but felt it was quicker and cheaper to crack on myself.
I had to heat up one hub to get the bearing out. Very tight and well rusted in!
I gave them a quick going over with the wire wheel.
Then a good soak in rust remover. I love this stuff!

Painting them tomorrow so will post more pics here when done.
