I had to do fuel lines on mine when putting it back on the road. I took the heat shield off next to the front exhaust pipes and joined the new lines to the old ones behind it. Middle one is the carbon canister circuit

Snap! So did I. Also made them slightly longer just in case. I bought some PVC sleeve for the bit that comes into the engine bay, as per the original set. The old stuff was stuck fast.
You were right about the length. One 25ft roll was insufficient! If I get time, I will finish them tomorrow and post some pics.Nothelle S2 Avant

I bought some second hand B6 S4 rear brakes on flea bay. I cleaned them up and painted them black. They didn’t look right black so I did them in red to match the front Porsche brakes I have.
Came out quite well considering I’m a amateur!
Also finished painting the last of the suspension parts.
I made a discovery when cleaning the shocks and springs. They are RS2 spec. All appear to be good so I’m not making any changes there at the moment.
My engine is at my friends in bits.
It’s off to the machine shop this week to see if the bores are in tolerance.
The subframes are also off to be sandblasted and powder coated this week. I was going to do it myself but decided there were too many nooks and crannies to do it with the wire wheel.
I’m still after quite a few parts.
Air filter box
Front door handles in black (pulls)
Air box (air con version)
Avant boot floor and trim in black
O/S boot trim under side window where rear seatbelt emerges (black)
Black rear avant seats (quattro script)
I still have some more welding to do in the engine bay, then I can start putting bits together for a change.

Front strut advice please.
I've re built my struts and there is some play/movement in the top bush. Should this be tight? It's not in the car yet. I hope I put it back together in the correct order
Protective boot, bump stop, cup washer, rose plate/spring retainer, bush (cup face down), funny nut into bush recess and tighten? Correct?Nothelle S2 Avant

The ball race should be in the bottom of the bush.
I’m not sure but shouldn’t the colour code be at the top?

The gold passivated part goes on after the leg is in place, under the bonnet

The diagram isn’t clear which way up the bush is. The ball race is an integral part of the bush (febi) and has a recess for the nut.
Still not sure though.

Here’s one, just as it came off the car 25 years ago
