I was thinking about fitting my brake air ducts soon. I found that lots of people is securing them with a zip tie also. Is this necessary? I don't want to damage the ducts if it is not an absolute thingto make them stay in place..
"Nuts" to hold the air ducts, N 90651601.

RS2 with zip ties, i did see in the parts catalouge that audi listed the zip ties "use if required" zip ties: 3,6x246mm.. But then as i understand i need to drill holes in the air ducts to fasten them around the front wish bone.. How did people here fasten them?

Post will be a two year celebration as i owned the car for two years now, time flies! I have searched the net and found some pictures of the car before the engine was teared down/before the car was put in a dark, lousy garage for 6 years.
When i brought the car home from Stockholm i thought this would be a nice easy/quick project. "Just assemble the engine and drive" I had experience with the AAN engine before as i have that in my URS4 (Project thread: https://www.s2forum.com/forum/member...ct#post2068818). Today i can tell i was wrong. Just to find parts that were missing/bad, for example door trims upper/lower, plastic air guides, other RS2 specific plastics, specific engine parts and air filter box was a hell to find. And finally when you find the parts it's not on the cheap side. For example i drove 600km for an air filter box, but what do you do? My thoughts was a good looking engine bay, painted parts but with original stuff. That i must say im proud of, the engine bay.
Well, as much as this car has caused me sleepless nights, empty wallet, many hours on the road collecting parts and lots of late nights in the garage i really enjoy the car and planning to keep it for many years. Looking back this two years, im looking back at a lot of hours spendt at this car. I know i have lots of hours left to get it where i want it to be. But that is ok, i have no pressure beside myself.
Here is a little to do list that i have right know:
1: New KW V1 suspension as the car is way to low i think, looks like a old Volvo 740 without springs.
2: Fixing the autocheck and onboard computer display.
3: Make the cruise control work.
4: Take out the dash board and replace flaps/isolation in the ventilation as they flies out the vents.
5: Full refurbish on the undercarriege. Blast/paint/new bearings/bushes/arms and so on.
6: Install an amplifier so i get more speakers working. (Was installed when i bought the car but i threw it away as it was ugly mounted/old crap)
7: Buy a set of "show" wheels.Original is original, but honestly, not the best looking wheel there is
8: A dream, some day let the car get a repaint to make it look new again, but that is far in the future..
Here is some pictures from the days before i owned it and the car was put in the garage for maintenance, my car is the one without rails.
Somewhere in Sweden and in good company:

When i got to see the car for the first time/bring it home:
