Well few days ago i collected the brake pads/brake scream pads for the calipers so i could start with the assembly of the brakes. Before i started with the brakes i had to change the front outer CV-joint rubber-boots. Left side was completely destroyed and right was on it's way, so that had to be done. I must say that im suprised how good the condition of bolts/subframe is on the car if i compare to how my UrS4 was. Today/yesterday i changed both rubber-boots in the front and mounted the rear discs/brake-calipers. Front discs and brake-calipers will be mounted soon i hope

    Drive shaft with new rubber-boot:

Drive shaft inner fasteners cleaned, suprised with no rust..:

Old scream-dampers that was no good

New screws for the brake discs/scream dampers for front/rear, not same front as before (maybe they are updated?):

New bleed nipples with old cleaned covers:

Rear discs and calipers fitted to the car:

I also need some dampers/anti-squeal parts, what size pistons do we have front and rear for the normal RS2 299mm & 304mm brakes? (I don’t have the 322mm Big Reds, just 304mm Reds, I saw them on a few PORSCHE websites, but I’m not sure what sizes I need.

Thank you, that’s great. So I need two of each.

        • I have Little Reds on my RS2. Porsche 993 damping shim part numbers are/were: 965.351.096.00 (44mm Front x4); 964.351.096.01 (36mm Front x4); 996.352.086.01 (28mm Rear x4); 996.352.086.00 (30mm Rear x4). I bought these as complete sets a few years ago from Type 911 (their part numbers are/were 8523 (Front) and 8522 (Rear) for the complete sets). Other Porsche parts suppliers are available, etc.

          • Started todays labour in the garage by mounting the noise insulation/air guide under the engine. It was not that hard work, many screws that holds it in place though. Tomorrow it is time for Swedish MOT, so i took the car out for a trip to bed in the brakes and check the car a little. First notice on the road is that the boost comes earlier than before (The cam timing was off and i had a wery bad idle last year). So now it feels like i found 100hp more. Otherwise all felt good, brakes nice, no vibrations. Only thing that is disturbing is my crappy built exhaust that some person before me built. It sounds way to much inside the car. Well, i will have to live with that some time until i build my own exhaust.
I will get back with the MOT result tomorrow, last time i failed due to high emissions (i think it was the cam timing/bad idle that made it not pass, according to Maxxecu wide band lambda it was running way to rich before i fixed the timing).

            Undertray fitted (Special for RS2):

              • Happy day! Car is through MOT "Besiktning". Now i have almost 15 months before i have to come back for inspection
Spotted a small coolant leak today, i will look in to it during the weekend. Now i will enjoy this victory for tonight and grab a beer.
Exhaust system is way to loud inside, but maybe i have a quick fix for that coming!

                • Congratulations! Beautiful photos, it appears your crops are a month ahead of us. Rapeseed, one of humanity's oldest crops, apparently there are different types and the name for rapeseed comes from the Latin word rapum meaning turnip. Turnip, rutabaga, cabbage, Brussels sprouts (my favourite!), and mustard are related to rapeseed, who knew? We grow that here also (and another related one: canola), for the oil and for cattle feed:

                  https://travelingnaturalist.wordpres...lds-of-yellow/

BTW, are the 8 screws, which may be holding the blue bumper cover to the under-tray (or are they to attach a spoiler?), original parts of the stock arrangement? They look like a good idea.

                  Cheers!

You always learn something, sounds like you know your seeds!
The 8x screws are factory on the RS2, but those are not from Audi. The clips is fitted on the cover, see the attached picture to see what i mean.

                    • Good evening. Today was a fun day as my (hopfully) solution on my crappy exhaust arrived. Sure i could built my own with some effort, but that would be time consuming and at the moment i wan't to drive and have fun with the car. So what do you do? Searched the net for a complete exhaust and found that Super Sprint made complete exhaust systems for S2/RS2 Avant. Called the Swedish supplier and he told me that the system (Race pack, without Catalyst) was in stock at the factory in Italy. So i made an "investment" again.. Think this will be my birthday present to myself this year
The exhaust on the car was poorly made from both stainless and regular steel. The sound/resonance was terrible at most speeds/gears so i couldn't stand it at all. Sure i want it to sound but not in the coupé. I can live with some but not like with the system on the car.
Packed up the stuff (very well packed), looked at it for like 30 min and then i started to dissasemble the old crap. Mounting the new Super Sprint exhaust was no problem and the fitting is spot on. In the future/for next MOT i think i will dissasemble the exhaust and weld on a catalyst. Or maybe just shift back to the crappy exhaust. Last night i also ordered some new exhaust hangers from Audi TRS, but it works as it is now. Well here is some pictures of todays work, really happy. Now i will wait for some sunny days and go out on the road to test the new exhaust.

                      Package from Santa:

And last some revs with the new exhaust:

Yeah, nothing to complain about. Hopefully it's good on the road to.

                              • Test drive of the new exhaust today! It's not quiet, think its almost louder than the old but with no disturbing resonance at cruising speed (Louder outside of the car). So i'm very happy with the exhaust system.
Recieved some new exhaust rubbers from Audi today, so first i mounted them.
Then testdrive in the evening sun. As the car now is more quiet in the coupe i hear my wheel bearings (that needs to be changed), but i will live with that this summer.
Here is a little video, i knew that the motorcycle would smoke me, but i couldn't resist to give him a little battle Enjoy!
