Put the rear fender liners in place today.

How are you guys preloading the suspension and still access the bolts?

I usally take note of the distance between wheel hub center and the edge of the fender. Then just put a jack under the lower suspension arm and load the suspension so that the distance between the hub and fender match. Then tighten the bolts.

        Thanks!
I can lower the ramp with something supporting the lower arm.
The KW suspension manual has some measurements for reference.

Drive shafts in place with new gaskets.
Exhaust in place (pfff difficult and heavy on your own).
Going to find some different 3" clamps. Really don't like these ones.

I think I get the missing brake hoses this week. This Friday I'll put them in place
and bleed the system. After that I'll do an alignment by sight. Booked an
alignment job for Friday next week.

First time on it's wheels since September last year.... feels really good!!
Set the height to the max specified by KW.
Front: 340mm from the center of the wheel to the fender arch.
          Rear: 330mm.
It will drop a bit in time.

After I had done the exhaust I could have it running a bit to check the fuel lines again
and verify the fuel pressure. It was already set to 4 bars by Nuke Performance.

Last Friday I put the heat shields, drive shafts and exhaust back on.
Supported the suspension to tighten the bolts at ride height, bled the brakes and took it
for a very short spin. Had to bleed the brakes again....

            Washed her this evening.

Paint looks alright, until you get up close... it's terrible...

Have an appointment for an alignment this Friday.

The exhaust is leaking at the conical rings at both cats. Can't seem to
get that fixed. Think I'll ask the garage that does to alignment to have a go.
Ordered the stainless mesh type donuts to see if I can get it to seal
            with those.

              Well, I got stranded today.
Couple of miles from the office I heard a noise like something was flapping around
in the engine bay. The noise went away and all seemed fine, until a bit further
up the road the engine temp was rising quickly.
Stopped the car and it was very hot with coolant over flowing and there was a
strong burning rubber smell. I am guessing the water pump has seized because
the belt is still on. There is a rattling noise when I try to start the car.
Engine still ran OK before I stopped.

My dad towed me home. I'll have to investigate when I have the time....
A car with quattro is a bitch to push around !

Bummer. Fingers crossed it's something simple and no harm done.

Water pump feels bad and the pulley is seized and out of place.
The timing is still OK, but the belt is loose. I hope I was lucky.

Fitted a new cam belt, roller and tensioner and a new poly belt + tensioner.
Started the car and it ran fine, so no damage to the engine.

I do have a major oil leak at the front of the engine. I think the gasket
of the oil pump has failed.
Anyone have some tips and tricks on replacing that?
Removing the lower sump to access the bolts from below and removing
the bolts from the front should be doable...

                              Very much a relief indeed!
Car is now running again. Oil leak fixed. I suspect it was a loose bolt all along
because it was always leaking. When removing the oil pump, one bolt was
                              very loose....
Replaced the oil pump gasket, the front main seal and the oil pan gasket.
Also replaced the cam and crank sensor to fix a rough idle, but no
such luck. These ECU's aren't the most reliable so bought one to test.

The allen socket on the top bolt for the oil pump was rounded by a previous
owner, so had to buy a new one from Tradition. As the shipping cost are high
also ordered some trim I will need in the future, like the lower front grilles, rear
license plate holder and the upper door trim. Fitted a new crank bolt.

Replaced the temporary stock brake hose to the rear calipers with the
Goodridge lines in the correct length.

Fixed the sunroof guide by 3d printing the plastic piece that is no longer available.
The PETG material is a bit too brittle, so will try TPU. If that has too much resistance,
                              I'll try ASA.
