Had the diff mounts water blasted and fitted Strongflex bushes to the rear mount.
The front mount is from Verkline. I will paint all in 2K satin clear.



Got my new wheels today.
Protrack ONE 8x18
ET35
These are about 9kg.





Thinking about fitting Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Sport tires in 235/40. Will these clear the front strut or should
I stick with 225/40?

Still waiting on the hubs to be pressed out (the shop I left them is very busy....)
Then I'll be able to send stuff out to be zinc and powder coated.

I think 235/40 will be too big, it's not just the front steering arm, on the Avant the rear leg wraps very close over the tyre.
I've had 235/35s on the coupe but they were expensive. Can't remember if I need spacers, maybe a shim at the front?

I guess best thing to do is buy a tyre and try it, maybe find a part worn?

Yeh, I'll stick with the 225/40-18 that I am running now on 8x18 ET33.
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is available in that size

Had all four hubs on the lathe to check them out. All four bent.....
Ordered a new set from Autowo
The rears weren't that bad, but I am not going to risk having to replace
them after everything is back together.

Working on the rust in the wheel wells, and bottom of the car. The bottom is light grey. Is
this the original color? I had selected Dinitrol 447 in light grey, but struggling with the
availability of it.

Planning to do (bought) from bare metal:
Rust-Oleum Metal Expert Rust Converter
2K Epoxy Primer grey
U-POL seam sealer grey (where needed)
Dinitrol 447 grey (stone chip protection with zink in it, but can't get hold of it easily)

Trying to keep the grey, but if this isn't stock... going black is much easier as the
products in black are readily available.

Picked up the wheels after being wrapped with the Pilot Sport 4s tires.



Does anybody have some insight on the stock color of the under body coating on the B4?

Added threaded holes for the bolts that hold the discs to the hub.





Decided that I do need to remove the gas tank to reach al the rusty bits. Then I will
be able to finish the under body rehab for the rear of the car.

Will the tank siphon empty if I disconnect the three hoses?



I was able to source 6 ltr of Dinitrol 447 in light grey.

Sprayed the front Brembo calipers 2k gloss black, along with the rear carriers and calipers.
The rears were already black, but now they are the same black and gloss as the fronts.

The tank won't self drain. You can either use a power probe or other 12v power supply on the pump feed or remove the pump and pump out manually through the tank opening.

Thanks Dave. There isn't much fuel left in the tank, so I'll leave that in there.
I was just wondering if it would make a huge mess when I disconnected it

While it's out, clean out the basket and bottom of the tank. You will be surprised how much crud will be in there.

Personally, I think the bottom one would look good on the black calipers, somewhat eye catching with a splash of red contrast.
