  • Interesting though expensive way to find about the slave cylinder. What length was the rod in the cylinder you where using?

    • Great write up alex, I find it annoying with the position of the throttle pedal also.

I have a similar issue with the bushings in the pedal box that will need replacing at some point and I expect its a common problem. Nice work

      • I am looking at making a kit for the pedal repair but I have about 4 sets of pedals here and they are all slightly different dimensions since the bosses for the bush sleeve are friction welded onto the pedal, it doesn't produce a consistent size so they need to made to suit the pedal. I can do some on an exchange basis if anyone is interested.

        • Final bit of work for a minute. I made a bolt-on adapter to upgrade to a dual stage booster.
In the B6/B7/C6 platform these use really long M8 bolts to mount to the bulkhead/pedal box. This adapter bolts up like the OE servo and accepts the OE B6/B7/C6 bolt arrangement.

          Fits like so:

Allowing the RS6 booster to bolt on.

Next up is a significant brake upgrade

          • What's the benefit of this booster, being dual stage?

            • More powerful = less pedal effort
Accepts a 27mm master cylinder = better pedal feel
Also they are cheap & easy to get hold of

Do you have the part numbers required? And how do you get the adapter made?

I'd add to the above more room to work on the steering rack without having to dismantle the brake booster to reach

                        • Great work alex, once you have a better idea of what you would charge to do on an exchange basis for the pedals let me know. It wont be for a while though, but noted as a job to be done

I'll probably be going down the DBW route in winter so there's some useful info right here.
