  • so going to that high compression and boost is not always knock limited,as many people declare...

of course, its E85, but, it can be done!

      But enogh of my car.
Let's hope to see some serious power figures from this car.
I totally forgot you were running E85. Of course with E85 a single pump will not be enough, because you need much more of it!
      Sorry, my bad.

We are hoping to map Thuppu's car before the snow comes down. And of course with some tips of the HX40 master in Estonia (Janis) on tktk dyno

      • Interesting, interesting... The head is not 100% stock so maybe it gives some benefit..? Hopefully.

Got also more info about the rpm limiting on these 2.2 20vt engines. There have been massive use with 7900 limit(stock oilpump), drag, track, road... The problem with 3:rd cyl(also 2:nd cyl) lubricating is that the oil that goes to the head doesn't reach back to the sump fast enough, so the the pump sucks air and the oilpressure drops fast. The 2:nd and 3:rd cyl bearings goes first. The head is full of oil and the sump is empty. There is a mod that blocks some of the oil to the head, but I haven't been able to find more info of that. The higher viscosity oil you use the slowly the oil pour down to the sump, also the risk for pump cavitation rises.

When going 8000rpm and over the risk for braking the oil pump rises quickly.

I really hope this will happen, but my foundings are limited so I can't get everything set up in ones... Also my BMW needs a big maintenance before the winter. But lets see...

Speak to Repo he can supply that mod

            • Yeah, Repo is the one I've got the info from, but he hasn't yet told how to do the mod. Propably the mod needs taking the block apart so propably I don't do it on this engine for now.

              • Got everything finished today and a testdrive made.

Made the waterlines a closed loop. It's ready anytime for a new turbo...

                New oilfeed, all steel couplers.

Needed to mod the pressure side intake a bit.

                Ready for a testdrive.

                • your injectors are not big enough for your turbo

                  how it feels about spooling?

                    Luckily I have these

Spool is not so bad at all. Have to test it more before any conclusions.

                      • I bought it from here: http://www.kkdmotorsport.com/ You get a billet pressure side v-band fitting for free. Hot side is #16.

                        • Some feeling about the spool...

I had problems with overboost, boost spike as 2 bar(1,7 bar is max). I change the wastegate spring to stock one and now I get 1,7 bar but on the high end it drops to 1,5bar so propably the wastegate is creeping open when the ex pressure rises. But have to take it easy whit this setup so i don't brake the engine before re-mapping.

                          What about spool?

                          0,1 bar at 2000
                          0,5 bar at 3800
                          1,7 bar at 4500

Maybe those figures get a little better when we get the mapping done..?

                              • thats a bit later that what i had.

maybe mapping might cure it slightly. I had 1.8bar at around 4200ish and 4650 at around 3d gear, if i remember correctly
