  • My cone filter is plugged straight on the maf body, so I tried to put a tube before the MAF with a grid like the stock intake has, but no difference in the idle. Idea was to stabilize the air flow so the MAF can read it properly...

Also go the front struts modded for the HP2 brakes. Had a pair of ufo-struts laying around so it was easy to work with them and have the car in use whole time. The struts got new bearings and had to cut one fastening away and bore the holes bigger on the two others. Had to weld 2,5mm shimms on them also so the brake disc is centralized with the caliper.

    • Got the HP2 brakes fitted on today. Quite a huge difference to the UFO's in stopping power. Still theese are small brakes compared to 4/6/8 pot brembo brakes but I need to fit on the 16" winter wheels and ice track wheels so these HP2's are good for my purpose.

      • Last weekend the brakes got a complete test run on our Audi club(ACF) trackday. They are superb compared to the UFO brakes, totally different. Really nice update.

Overall the car and the engine worked like a charm exept the idle issue and that a turbo hose popped off a couple of times. The car is not mapped yet so I also had to take it quite easy and didn't use high rpm's.

Thanks to Duke and Porkkis about the pics.

        • you can even go to 15'' for the winter wheels if you want. I've fitted HP2's to my V8 but the stopping power is a lot worse since then, I'm afraid the master cylinder is broken

          • Maybe you still have air in the system?

            • Why do the hoses pop off? Did you bolt the pipes to the chassis to stop them from moving? De-grease all contact surfaces including the silicone sleeves with brake cleaner and fit & torque the clamps still wet from the cleaner and they will stick like **** on a public restroom toilet bowl!

              • I did a roller-machine with wich I made extensions on the boost pipes so the hoses don't pop off, but there is a 2"->3" reducer pipe that proceeds directly from the turbo kompressor outlet and it don't have the extension on the 2" side because the roller wheel didn't fit in it. Have to weld a extension on it...

doens't look like it, let the air out twice now and there is no more air coming from the calipers had a block of wood on the pedal but it slipped off, didn't press the pedal to the bottom after that but I still think it could be the MC

                  • Have you tried a vacum pump to bleed the calipers and lines? Sometimes the air don't want to come out.

                      • Today I finally pass the MOT. Had problems with the handbrake. We change the handbrake wires and got the brakes working. The wires was totally jammed. The left caliper had also a issue with mechanism but I put a stiff spring on it that pulls it back...
