UrS4 2.2T Avant project

Thuppu, i just had my urs4 recently weighed. Front little over 1000kg and total weight 1740kg with 16" rims and no spare wheel. No webasto, no electric seats but with 15L of gas in tank.

Yes with aircon. I was surprised to see these numbers but this is the reality.

Hope to stay under 1800kg with all extra roll cage, surge tank, pumps, and the turbo of course. Then again seats saves many kg's, exhaust saves a lot...

Yup, i think a oe non electric seat weight is around 25kg and stock exhaust system easy 70kg.

My Avant UrS4 was weighed 1670kg.
I had removed front oem electric seats and replaced only driver seat with bucket seat.
The car has additional 10L surge tank with double main pumps.
Floor mat has been removed (easily 30-40kg, depends how wet it is )
Car has partial roll cage in (dosnt have tubes from B-pillar to A-pillar).
Non-oem exhaust that you can hold up by yourself.
So i think Thuppu you can easily be in low 1700kg with full roll cage.

How about a thin piece of aluminum or carbon fiber in place of the sunroof and remove all the sunroof tracks, drains and motor? Headliner weighs a little too, get the weight out up top if possible.

Hope to get the car weighted at some point. I decided to leave the roof trim/interior and the electric sunroof, as I don't have aircon it's a nice feature to have on hot summer days. It could have saved a lot of weight but... Also the inside roof trim is nice to have in the wintertime, so water doesn't condens and drip down.

According to this I had to skip the diagonal pipe beetween the roof bars. It would have been dangerous as it would have been running quite low.

Just a basic 450x300x76mm core size china cooler.

Just got a call from the racing shop. Roll cage is ready. Tomorrow we will see how it looks.

So, I got the car today. The rear diagonal isn't welded on yet, don't know if I will do a removable X-bar..? Also the fittings on the floor need to be welded more. The rust protect coat starts to fire up, so needs to be done slowly.

Some painting... quite hard to get paint on all sides of the cage, without messing up everything.






Decided to add an extra pipe between the main bars. Also needed to weld the chassis fitting points.






Still possible to use the back seat, if needed.
