Well, I don't love lag, but I think early spool is overrated. On track you can easily hold the rpm's over 5000 for most of the time... I have a other "turbo" car which is not so laggy.

Today I started the turbo swap... Have to wonder how easy it was to fit. The DP fitting was almost plug and play, had to change the flange and shorten the V-band adapter about 7mm and weld it back together. No changes to the DP. Tomorrow I have to get new oil feed lines made and have to mod the kompressor pressure side fitting. Have also to find a adapter to plug the waterlines.

I get your point, i've got that problem here.
Since there is just a single business (owned by Kadhaffi ) selling E85, and the left wing politicians aren't that enthousiastic about it anymore as well makes me wonder about altering the new build to suit alcohol based fuels.

Will be definitely interesting mapping this...
But on stock head and CR without octane boosting you can't really run more than 30 psi flat on this turbo.
Just doesn't happen. And that is maybe 520hp or so.
With meth I am hoping to reach about 580-590.

Car is Audi S4 2.2T comp ~8.0. Fuel E80, boost 2.2-2.3bar. Hx40Super 14# and the usually stuff (tubular manifold, big intercooler, etc.)
The power figures are from the wheels. In real life the turbo wakes up about 500 rpms sooner, in dyno there is bad ventilation.
With just one 044 pump and 98 RON i made 330kW from wheels. Then the pump was the weakest point.
Some of my friends have taken with the same turbo 447kW from 1.8T r4 (E85 and 3+bar boost) and 437kW from 2.5T r5 (tall block stroker, comp ~9.5 and meth injection, 2.8 bar boost) from wheels.
It is a good turbo and it likes boost over 2 bar very much.Last edited by rst; 26 August 2011, 09:38.Audi UrS4 609hp/846Nm @ wheels

rst is master lurker
Did you try relaying the fuel pump?
We got 480whp on a GT35R with Bosch 044, no fuel issues at all...

I wanted more power, so the 330kW from wheels was not enough for me.
It was easier to this:
If two is not enogh then i'll just add the third one.
But enogh of my car.
Let's hope to see some serious power figures from this car.Audi UrS4 609hp/846Nm @ wheels
