Looking good Greg. I like the platinum interior, had the same on my old V6q coupe, its quite rare and gives a very difference feel in the cabin. Recaros will finish it off nicelyPanthero Coupé quattro 20vt

Been a while since I have updated the thread. Since the summer I've mainly been putting effort into house renovations and had limited time on the car. Most recently I changed the lower ball joint on the passenger side and plan to do drivers side too and found that I have a calliper piston sticking on my AP callipers. Any tips on freeing off the piston on the four pots? Other jobs for the winter is to get the inner arch rust sorted and the leading edge on the windscreen while I save up for a respray. Also want to continue undersealing and get ready to overhaul the suspension and subframes as they are looking a but crusty again, its been about 6 years since I last did themGreg

This evening I spent a bit of time checking out a misfire on load where on load and boost I was getting a miss fire in the way home from ADI, and found the bolts on coil cover had loosened do re tightened and checked again but still does a little. This evening I've checked all the plugs and wiring and all look fine. Is there a way to test the coils and the 2 x POS?Greg

Got out for a run in the Audi this afternoon, good news is the misfire hasnt re appeared so will keep an eye on things. I also got a chance to check out the sticking brake piston.
I got the brakes warmed up and got the wheel off then removed a pad and wedge in so that the sticking piston was free. Claire pressed the brake pedal for me and fortunately it moved freely out and I could press in back in.
However it didnt seem as free moving as the upper piston on that side and it didnt return quite as far, it returns about 3-4mm less than the piston above, now im not sure if this is by design or if it is because there is a problem internally on that piston which will need a refurb.
The calipers are AP Racing CP5200 4 Pots I couldnt find any details of how far the pistons should return?
If they are going to need a refurb how do you go about carrying this out on this type of caliper or is it more specialist?
Thanks in advance. Also i need to get some new discs, ive been looking at the reyland discs which seem to work out at £265 a pair for 330 x 32mm 12 bolt pattern. Anyone used these? Or can recommend any other alternatives?
ThanksGreg

Thats good to hear, was wondering what the best bet is for removing the pistons from the calipers. I guess you could just take the pads out and pump pedal until they pop out. Would be a bit messy with fluid thoughGreg

I did wonder why they were so much cheaper, the AP discs I currently have fitted have done really well. Lasted nearly 10 years and about 55k which is excellent value. Ive got in touch with RCM to see what they come back with too. What brake fluid is recommended for our S2's these days?Greg
